“50 SHOWS. THOUSANDS OF FANS… AND HARRY STYLES STILL THOUGHT NOBODY WOULD SHOW UP?!” After nearly 3 years away, Harry kicked off Together, Together in Amsterdam with dance moves, full-speed sprints, and an emotional confession that shocked fans. Harry Styles put on an electrifying performance on Saturday night, as he kicked off his Together, Together tour at Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam.

The singer, 32, will be playing ten nights in the Netherlands capital, before heading to London for a 12 date run of shows across several weeks at Wembley, supported by Shania Twain.

He also has four shows in Brazil, six nights in Mexico and a staggering 30 shows at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, before closing out the tour in Australia in December.

After taking a hiatus following the conclusion of his Love On Tour in July 2023, Harry was back with a bang this weekend, with thousands of adoring fans travelling from far and wide to attend the first night.

But, despite being one of the world’s most popular artists, after his three year hiatus Harry claimed he’d been nervous that no one would show up to the gig.

Addressing the packed arena, he began: ‘Welcome! This is night one of the Together Together tour.

‘I was here yesterday and I got a little bit of that feeling like where you’re not sure if anyone’s gonna come to your birthday party. It means the world that you came tonight. Thank you!’

And among those who came to see the hitmaker on Saturday night, were two of the most important women in Harry’s life – his mum Anne Twist and fiancée Zoë Kravitz.

Harry and Zoë, 37, are thought to be newly-engaged after eight months of dating – with the actress pictured last month with an enormous diamond ring on her wedding finger.

Adding further fuel to the speculation that she will be joining the family, Zoë was seen sharing a sweet hug with Anne during the show, with the two women wrapping their arms around each other and singing along side-by-side.

The gig opened with the giant screens flashing footage of the One Direction star walking through a garden on the phone, as woman’s voice can be heard saying: ‘Harry, are you coming out tonight?’

Fans immediately went wild on social media, speculating whether the woman in question was Zoe, or else Harry’s close friend Clara – the inspiration for his track Clara’s Song.

While the tour is in support of his fourth album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally, Harry treated the audience to several of his most beloved older hits.

These include crowd-favourites Watermelon Sugar, Fine Line, Adore You, Music for a Sushi Restaurant and his debut solo single, Sign of The Times, which he jokingly claimed he’s ‘just written backstage’.

However, fans may be sad to know that the current setlist contained no solo renditions of One Direction hits, in a departure from all his previous tours.

Fans shared numerous clips to X and TikTok of Harry engaging in some slick choreography with his backing dancers, showcasing similar moves to the ones he previously wowed with during his BRIT Awards performance in March.

And as he is known to do in his shows, the pop star chatted to the crowd and read out their personalised signs, leading the arena in singing one lucky fan Happy Birthday, and helping another track down her mum.

Footage from the show showed that his new passion for running had certainly paid off, with Harry demonstrating the impressive fitness and endurance he has shown in his impressive finishing times, by racing all over the huge stage.

He saved his biggest hit for last, finishing off the show with an energetic performance of As It Was, that saw him sprinting at full-speed across the stage runways to the delight of fans, who joked ‘the marathons were his training for this’.

They quipped: ‘He clearly can’t give up his practicing even on tour’; ‘All that running training paid off’; ‘Bro’s doing parkour on stage’.

‘Man didn’t say run for fun for nothing! I love him so much’; ‘got it babe, you are an athlete’; ‘gotta get those steps in’;

‘He’s a runner he’s a trackstar’; ‘He got the zoomies’; ‘bros run a marathon n flexin that @HSHQ can you post his strava for the show please’.

Critics in the crowd were similarly impressed, with The Times’ Blanca Schofield praising Harry’s undeniable charisma and proclaiming him as ‘a poster boy for an anti-manosphere movement’.

In her three-star review, she compared his stage presence and aesthetics to those of music icons, Mick Jagger, David Bowie, David Byrne and Gorillaz.

Praising his ‘quirky choreography’, Schofield branded the live performances of his new album’s most dance-worthy tracks, Aperture, and Ready, Steady, Go! and Dance No More as the evening’s highlights.

However, she lamented there were not more rehearsed dance sequences and said Harry mostly fell short of recreating the atmosphere of the Berlin club scene that he had promised while promoting his latest album.

But reviewing the concert for Variety, Jem Aswad was full of adulation, calling the singer ‘a one-in-millions performer, with a hurricane-force charm that’s dashing and sexy and goofy at the same time, and he brought all of it on Saturday night.’

Though she credited Harry’s talented 18-piece band for elevating the records in the live setting, she added: ‘But of course, it’s mostly down to him.’
