PRINCESS EUGENIE’S QUIET MOVE AWAY FROM LONDON IS MAKING SENSE IN A WHOLE NEW WAY AFTER HER OWN WORDS REVEALED WHAT SHE TREASURES MOST ABOUT RAISING HER FAMILY IN PORTUGAL. With Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s life abroad back in the spotlight following reports surrounding their growing family, attention has turned to the surprisingly ordinary freedom she says their Portuguese home provides—something money, status and royal privilege could never guarantee in Britain. Behind the sunshine and multimillion-pound surroundings lies a far more personal reason Eugenie once described life there as “the dream,” and it says plenty about the childhood she wants for her children.

Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, welcomed their third child, a baby girl, in Portugal, earlier this week.

King Charles’ niece revealed the happy news on a social media post, alongside a photo of the newborn wearing a pastel pink babygrow and an adorable hat featuring a butterfly pattern.

According to the statement, Eugenie delivered the couple’s baby at a hospital in Lisbon, near where they now live in Portugal. She and her baby girl, who was born weighing 6lb 9oz, are both said to be doing well.

The birth of their third child marks a rare moment for the royal family, who are not typically born overseas.Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson‘s daughter relocated to the Portuguese Algarve in 2022 with their two sons, August, five, and Ernest, three, both of whom were born at the Portland Hospital in London.

They left behind their royal residence at Kensington Palace to start a new life in the sun-soaked European holiday destination, where they now live in a lavish home in Comporta.

The decision to leave her London roots was not an easy one, but had long been a dream of Eugenie’s. Speaking on an episode of Table Manners with Jessie and Lennie Ware, she revealed the real reason the couple had wanted to escape busy London life.

“Portugal is the dream because I can go to the supermarket in my exercise gear and my hair piled on my head and not mind. Not care. No one cares,” she said.

And things seem to be going well for the family, with Eugenie previously telling HELLO! that her children were enjoying the local natural beauty.

“They love swimming. The sea in Portugal is a little bit rougher. So we’ve got our feet in, but Augie is a fish. He literally loves it, and we have whales and dolphins all across the walls.”

Now, they split their time between Portugal and the UK, where Jack previously worked as a brand ambassador for Casamigos, the tequila brand started by George Clooney and Rande Gerber.

Jack, however, now works for Mike Meldman’s luxury property developers, Discovery Land Company, which is located in Portugal. The company operates luxurious resorts around the world, including the CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club near their home in Comporta.

Eugenie, meanwhile, works as a director at London art gallery Hauser & Wirth.

When they’re not at their £3.6 million house in the Algarve, the family spend time at Nottingham Cottage on the Kensington Palace estate, which was once the home of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

The Duke of Sussex resided in the property from 2013 until moving to Windsor following the couple’s wedding in 2018. The Prince even proposed to Meghan there.

It’s the real deal. Netflix’s hidden war masterpiece is being hailed as one of the best and most authentic combat films of the 21st century. If Saving Private Ryan, Black Hawk Down, and The Hurt Locker set the bar for modern war cinema, this overlooked Arabic-language thriller comes frighteningly close to clearing it. Inspired by the real-life Battle of Mosul, the film follows an Iraqi policeman who joins an elite SWAT unit battling through a devastated city during the campaign against ISIS. Critics and viewers have praised its “astoundingly real” combat, relentless tension, powerful performances, and almost documentary-like atmosphere. Rather than turning war into spectacle, the film puts audiences directly in the chaos—street by street, firefight by firefight.
