Prince Harry Makes Surprise Appearance in New UK Charity Video and Opens Up About His Personal Connection
Prince Harry has made an unexpected appearance in a newly released video for Scotty’s Little Soldiers, offering a personal explanation of why his relationship with the UK charity means so much to him.
The Duke of Sussex, who became a patron of Scotty’s in 2023 after supporting its work for many years, spoke warmly about the community of bereaved military children and families the organisation supports.
The footage was recorded during Harry’s visit to Scotty’s Summer Festival 2026 last July, when he spent five days in the UK, but has now been shared by the charity.
Harry reveals what Scotty’s means to him

Scotty’s Little Soldiers supports children and young people who have experienced the death of a parent who served in the British Armed Forces.
In the newly released clip, Harry spoke candidly about the connection he feels with those families.
“I can really relate to this community, and I love supporting all these kids,” the Duke said.
Harry explained that his involvement is personally rewarding too, adding: “I get a fix out of this as well. I have so much fun with this community, so much fun with these kids and these mums and these, and these parents and grandparents.”
He continued: “I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m absolutely honoured to be a global ambassador for Scotty’s.”
The remarks offer a glimpse into Harry’s long-standing relationship with the organisation, which he continues to support despite now living in the United States.

Harry remains involved from America

Distance has not prevented the Duke from maintaining his connection with Scotty’s Little Soldiers.
While in America, Harry regularly marks important moments for the charity by sending letters and recorded video messages.
His involvement stretches back years, before he formally became a patron in 2023, and his own military background has also formed part of his connection with the Armed Forces community.
The latest video focuses particularly on Harry’s role as Scotty’s Global Ambassador and the shared experiences that help him relate to its members.
A memorable return to Scotty’s Summer Festival
Harry’s comments were filmed during his appearance at Scotty’s Summer Festival in July 2026.
Following that visit, the Duke described how much he valued the opportunity to reconnect with members of the charity, including several people he had previously met.
“I’m so proud to be Scotty’s Global Ambassador and I care deeply about the charity’s incredible work in supporting bereaved military children, young people and their families,” Harry said at the time.
He added: “It’s an honour to meet some of the charity’s members today – many of them familiar faces as I’ve met them at previous Scotty events.”
For Harry, the gathering also highlighted the importance of the relationships that have developed within the organisation.
“It’s clear just how much being part of the Scotty’s community means to them,” he said.
The newly released footage now provides a more personal perspective on that relationship, with Harry making clear that supporting Scotty’s is not simply another charitable role for him, but a community with which he feels a genuine connection.
