Meghan Markle Reportedly Still in Talks for The Gentlemen Despite Claims Her Acting Comeback Was Axed
Meghan Markle could still make her return to acting in Netflix’s The Gentlemen, despite a recent claim that the Duchess of Sussex had been dropped from consideration following backlash in the UK.
According to a new report, discussions surrounding a potential role are continuing, although no formal agreement has yet been reached.
The development adds another twist to speculation over Meghan’s acting future, with conflicting reports emerging over whether a deal remains on the table.
Netflix bosses reportedly see major potential in Meghan

A source told The Sun that those involved remain interested in the prospect of bringing the 45-year-old Duchess back to the screen, believing her return could attract significant attention from both supporters and critics.
“Her return to acting is expected to draw a large audience of both her supporters and critics, and is likely to make a lot of money,” the source claimed.
They added: “It will be seen as a major coup for whoever signs her.”
However, the report stressed that a formal agreement has not been reached, meaning Meghan’s involvement in The Gentlemen remains unconfirmed.
Conflicting claim said the deal was already off
The latest report follows a very different account from royal author Tina Brown.
Writing on Substack on Saturday, August 22, Brown claimed that Meghan’s potential involvement in the series had been abandoned, suggesting the proposed comeback had fallen apart amid a public backlash.
The new report disputes that version of events, maintaining that discussions are still taking place.
For now, neither account amounts to confirmation that Meghan will appear in the series. With no formal deal announced, her possible return to acting — and a role in The Gentlemen specifically — remains the subject of competing reports rather than a settled decision.
