Prince Harry “Still Expects An Apology” And Remains Angry With Members Of The Royal Family, Friends Claim—Revealing Why His Dramatic Return To Britain Should Not Be Mistaken For A Change Of Heart Over Megxit. Six Years After Walking Away With Meghan Markle, Harry May Be Back On British Soil, But Fresh Claims Suggest The Grievances Behind The Royal Rift Have Never Really Gone Away.

Furious Harry ‘Still Expects an Apology’ From Royal Family as Friends Claim Prince Has Returned to Britain ‘Just as Angry’ as Before

Harry is expected to attend the glitzy dinner and awards ceremony on September 18, say sources ¿ and Meghan is considering joining him

Prince Harry has reportedly returned to Britain carrying some of the same frustrations that followed him when he stepped away from royal life six years ago — with friends claiming the Duke of Sussex still feels angry with members of the Royal Family and believes an apology is owed.

Harry, 41, returned to the UK last week with Meghan Markle, 45, and their two children as the couple begin a new chapter in Britain. The Sussexes are understood to have chosen a private home in the Cotswolds, while Archie and Lilibet are reportedly due to start at a local prep school.

But according to a source cited by The Mail on Sunday, friends who recently caught up with Harry were surprised by how little his feelings appeared to have changed.

Rather than hearing “contrition and humility,” the source claimed they found Harry still frustrated with certain members of his family and with the royal aides surrounding his father, King Charles.

“He still feels angry,” the source claimed, adding that Harry “still expects an apology.”

The comments echo Harry’s own remarks from a 2023 interview, when he said that what he wanted was “some accountability” and an apology to his wife.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s relationship with the Royal Family deteriorated sharply after they stepped down as working royals in 2020 and moved to the United States.

Their subsequent interviews — most notably their 2021 conversation with Oprah Winfrey — as well as Harry’s 2023 memoir Spare, exposed deeply personal grievances about life inside the monarchy.

Harry has also repeatedly accused royal aides of making reconciliation with his father more difficult, using language that has been compared with Princess Diana’s own criticism of royal courtiers.

Now, with the Sussexes spending more time in Britain, those old tensions could once again come under scrutiny.

The source claimed Harry “certainly won’t be issuing a public apology for his actions” and suggested that Diana’s legacy remains an important part of how he views the conflict.

The timing is particularly significant because August 2027 will mark 30 years since Diana died in a Paris car crash.

Harry and Meghan recently visited Diana’s grave at Althorp, her childhood family home, during a trip to the UK. Meghan later shared photographs of Archie and Lilibet carrying flowers through the estate.

The Sussexes’ move does not mean they have abandoned their life in the United States.

The couple are expected to retain their Montecito property as well as their home in Portugal, while continuing to navigate their security arrangements in Britain.

Harry lost his automatic entitlement to taxpayer-funded armed police protection after stepping down as a working royal. The couple are understood to be awaiting a new assessment of their security needs, while Harry’s security adviser David Langdown is believed to have assembled a team of British security personnel.

The couple also reportedly stayed on billionaire hedge-fund manager Ian Wace’s private Scottish island, Tanera Mor, during a recent holiday.

But perhaps the most closely watched question now is whether Meghan will take a more visible role alongside Harry in Britain.

Meghan could join Harry at Diana Award event

A source said friends who met up with Harry 'were agog to hear he still feels angry with members of the Royal Family'

Harry is expected to attend a Diana Award dinner and awards ceremony on September 18, according to sources cited by The Mail on Sunday, while Meghan is reportedly considering joining him.

If she does attend, it would mark a particularly symbolic appearance.

The Diana Award was established in memory of Princess Diana and remains one of the few formal charitable links involving both Harry and his brother, Prince William.

William appeared on behalf of the charity earlier this summer, while Harry is expected to take the lead at the September event.

One source suggested that the brothers are unlikely to appear together at the occasion, particularly if Meghan attends.

The potential appearance has also reportedly raised concerns among some people close to William’s Kensington Palace operation, given the event’s direct connection to Diana.

However, the charity itself has pushed back against the suggestion that the event is already confirmed.

A spokesman said The Diana Award is only in the early stages of considering how it might mark the 30th anniversary of Diana’s death next year, adding that no plans have been agreed, no event has been confirmed and no decisions have been made about attendance or participation.

He expects an apology. He's not changed': Friends reveal Harry is 'still angry' with members of the Royal Family and why his return to Britain is not a change of heart from

For now, Harry’s return to Britain has reopened a chapter many might have expected to be quieter.

Instead, according to people who claim to have spoken with him, the anger that defined much of his relationship with the Royal Family after Megxit may still be very much alive.
