Harry And Meghan’s UK Return Has Been Turned Into A Savage Royal Parody On Saturday Night Live UK, With The Sketch Firing Jokes At The Couple’s Royal Status, Family Tensions And Hollywood Fortune. In The Fictional Scene, Meghan Calls Camilla ‘STEP-QUEEN’, While A Mock King Charles Hits Harry With The Killer Line: “Don’t Tell Me You’ve Spent That Netflix Money Already.” Two Jokes. Two Royal Targets. And SNL UK Clearly Decided The Sussexes’ Return Was Too Tempting To Leave Alone.

Harry And Meghan’s UK Return Turned Into A Brutal SNL Punchline — Netflix Money, Royal Titles And Their ‘Private Citizen’ Status All Get Mocked

Harry and Meghan's controversial return to the UK has been ruthlessly mocked during a sketch on Saturday Night Live UK (comedians Ayoade Bamgboye and Jack Shep are pictured)

Harry and Meghan have barely settled back into Britain, but their controversial return has already become comedy material.

A new Saturday Night Live UK sketch took aim at the Sussexes’ return to the country, portraying the couple arriving at Balmoral to seek help from King Charles and Queen Camilla — and turning everything from their Netflix fortune to their royal status into a punchline.

Comedians Jack Shep and Ayoade Bamgboye played Harry and Meghan, while Larry Dean and Emma Sidi portrayed the King and Queen.

‘This Castle Is For Royals Only’

Queen Camilla told friend Meghan Markle 'brainwashed' Harry amid royal family feud, new book claims

The sketch opens with Harry and Meghan arriving at Balmoral, where Charles immediately questions his youngest son.

“Harry, what are you doing here? This castle is for Royals only,” the fictional King tells him.

Camilla then greets the couple, calling Harry “Sweet Harry” before telling Meghan she is “beautiful” and “as brown as ever”.

The line appeared to reference the Sussexes’ explosive 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, during which they alleged that a member of the Royal Family had raised concerns about the colour of their then-unborn child’s skin.

Meghan then hands Camilla a block of ice she claims she “made myself”, introducing her as “step-Queen”.

She adds that she is a “whizz in the kitchen”, prompting Harry to joke that his wife “hires the best cooks”.

‘How Long Was It Meant To Last?’

The biggest punchline arrives when Charles asks the couple what they want.

“We’re moving back to the UK and we need your help,” Meghan replies.

The fictional King immediately turns to their commercial success.

“Don’t tell me you’ve spent all your Netflix money already,” he says.

Harry responds: “Daddy, it was $60 million. How long was it meant to last?”

He then adds: “I’m not asking for much, just a duchy or two.”

The exchange turns the Sussexes’ lucrative Netflix deal into a joke about their return to Britain — while also taking a swipe at their complicated relationship with the institution they left in 2020.

Charles later tells Harry “what a waste” he has become, before accidentally making a reference to his late father that leaves the characters visibly confused.

Harry then delivers another pointed line about his royal identity: “Daddy, just because I don’t want to be a Royal, it doesn’t mean I want to be a regular guy.”

Andy Burnham Joins The Royal Send-Up

The Sussexes are seen greeting members of the public in Sydney. The couple moved back to the UK from the US on August 26 amid an ongoing row about their personal security

The sketch then takes an unexpected turn when comedian George Fouracres appears as Prime Minister Andy Burnham.

Introducing himself as the “new PM”, the character jokes that he is “nothing like the last one” before addressing Harry and Meghan.

“Just because you’re normal folk, doesn’t mean your life has to be c***,” he says. “That is the Burnham promise.”

The fictional PM then launches into a series of jokes about Manchester, Liverpool and his own constituency, including a gag about not remembering the name of the town he represents.

He also jokes about building a “No10” on every street in Britain and admits: “I want you to like me. I need you to like me.”

The Joke Comes As Palace Tensions Continue

'Regular guy' Andy Burnham, played by comedian George Fouraces, also made a surprise appearance at the Balmoral estate

The sketch comes as Harry and Meghan remain at odds with the Palace over their status following their return to Britain.

The King recently reaffirmed that the couple are no longer working members of the Royal Family, while their HRH styles remain in abeyance and are not used.

Sources close to the Sussexes have reportedly pushed back against the description of them as “private citizens”, arguing that their global profile makes an ordinary private life unrealistic.

An insider told People: “Members of the public know who they are. The idea that they can live a normal, ‘private’ life is sadly not realistic.”

The issue has also become intertwined with the couple’s long-running concerns over security, particularly around Archie and Lilibet and their school arrangements.

Harry’s Return To Public Life

Despite the dispute, Harry has a series of public engagements lined up.

He is due to attend the inaugural Invictus Spirit Awards on September 17 and the launch of the Invictus education programme INSPIRE, followed by the WellChild Awards in London on September 21.

He is also expected to return to the US for the Clintons’ Global Initiative in New York on September 22 and 23.

Meanwhile, sources close to the Sussexes have said the couple are “happy to be back” in Britain despite the continuing tensions with Buckingham Palace.

The SNL sketch simply gave those tensions a much sharper — and considerably more embarrassing — fictional twist, turning the Sussexes’ attempt to build a new life in Britain into one long royal punchline.

Sources close to the Sussexes have suggested the King's assessment of them as 'private citizens' is unrealistic given their level of fame (the couple are pictured in 2017)
