Meghan Markle Shares First Glimpse Of Life Back In Britain — New Video Shows Harry, Archie And Lilibet Enjoying The English Countryside

Meghan Markle has given the first glimpse into her family’s new life back in Britain, sharing a series of personal videos just weeks after she and Prince Harry returned to the UK with their children.

The Duchess of Sussex posted the montage on Instagram on Sunday, September 13, offering an unusually intimate look at Harry, Archie and Lilibet enjoying the countryside together.

Set to Wham!’s 1984 hit Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go, the phone-shot footage captures the family spending time outdoors with their dog, while Harry is seen on a boat fishing with the children.

The video opens with Meghan and Harry walking hand in hand, before Meghan turns towards the camera and playfully calls out, “come on, you”.

Lilibet And Archie Enjoy A Quiet Family Day

One particularly sweet moment appears to show Lilibet riding a bicycle with a doll sitting in the baby seat, while Archie runs nearby.

Another clip appears to show one of the children warming their feet in front of a fireplace, adding to the cosy picture of family life Meghan has chosen to share.

An Union Flag emoji and a heart were also placed over the montage, giving the video a distinctly British touch.

The post, shared at around 3.30pm on Sunday, marks Meghan’s first video showing the family’s life in Britain since the Sussexes made their surprise return.

A New Chapter After Six Years In California

Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior working royals in early 2020 and subsequently built their life in Montecito, California, where they had spent the past six years.

Their relationship with the Palace has remained strained, particularly after the couple publicly discussed their experiences within the Royal Family and tensions with senior relatives.

Harry has nevertheless continued to make occasional trips to Britain, including visits to see King Charles while the monarch undergoes cancer treatment. Meghan and the children also travelled to the UK with him in July.

Then, in late August, the Sussexes returned to Britain with plans to make the country their full-time home and send Archie and Lilibet to school there.

The move has raised fresh questions over exactly what their new life in Britain will look like.

Palace Makes One Thing Clear

While reports have suggested the King is pleased to have more time with his grandchildren, the Sussexes’ return has not altered their formal position within the Royal Family.

A letter issued on the King’s behalf to senior Government and military officials reaffirmed that Harry and Meghan remain outside the working Royal Family.

The message, sent by the Palace’s most senior officer Richard Benyon, stated that they are “no longer working Members of The Royal Family” and that there has been “no change to the current status of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex”.

It also confirmed that their HRH styles remain in abeyance and are not used.

Their charitable activities were similarly described as a private matter, with the Palace stating that their position is “akin to private citizens with commercial and charitable interests”.

Against that backdrop, Meghan’s first glimpse of life back in Britain offers a strikingly personal picture of the Sussexes’ new chapter — even as the Palace makes clear that their return home has changed little about their official status.
