Reacher’s Own Spin-Off Has Knocked Alan Ritchson From Prime Video’s No. 1 Spot — and the Eight-Episode Action Thriller Is Still Holding the Crown

Jack Reacher has spent years establishing himself as one of Prime Video’s biggest action heroes.

Now one of his closest allies has beaten him on his own streaming turf.

The eight-episode Reacher spin-off Neagley, starring Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, has climbed to No. 1 on Prime Video’s global and U.S. rankings, pushing Alan Ritchson’s flagship series into second place.

Even more impressively, the spin-off was still holding that position nearly two weeks after arriving on the platform.

For a character who previously operated largely in Reacher’s shadow, it’s a striking reversal.

Neagley Arrived at the Perfect Moment

Prime Video timed the spin-off to take advantage of enormous interest surrounding its established franchise.

Reacher Season 4 premiered on August 12 and dominated Prime Video’s U.S. and global charts.

Neagley followed on September 16, arriving the same day as the Reacher Season 5 finale.

The strategy immediately gave viewers somewhere else to go once Reacher’s latest adventure was over.

And they went in huge numbers.

Nearly two weeks after release, Neagley remained the platform’s most popular series in both the United States and worldwide, according to the rankings cited in the report.

Reacher was directly behind it at No. 2.

Frances Neagley Finally Gets Her Own Mission

Maria Sten’s Frances Neagley has become one of the most familiar supporting characters in the Reacher universe.

She’s dependable, highly capable and repeatedly proves herself to be one of the few people Reacher completely trusts.

This time, however, Reacher isn’t the center of the story.

Neagley investigates Echo Canyon Farm, a commune she suspects may have been connected to the death of one of her childhood friends.

Her search pulls her deeper into the mysterious, cult-like group, where she discovers the situation isn’t nearly as straightforward as it initially appears.

Alan Ritchson does appear, but only in a guest role, allowing Sten’s character to carry the eight-episode story herself.

The cast also includes Greyston Holt, Matthew Del Negro, Adeline Rudolph, Damon Herriman and Joel Keller.

Reacher Isn’t Giving Up the Franchise

Neagley’s success doesn’t mean Jack Reacher is disappearing.

Far from it.

Another season is already in production, with the next story based on Lee Child’s novel Make Me.

That adventure sends Reacher to the strangely named town of Mother’s Rest, where he joins forces with a private investigator and becomes involved in a mystery connected to the Deep Web.

Ritchson will return in the title role, while Kevin Durand, Jay Baruchel and Ciara Bravo are among the newcomers joining the cast.

No premiere date has been announced.

Based on the release pattern of previous seasons, the source suggests viewers could potentially see the next installment in late 2027 or early 2028, although that remains an estimate rather than a confirmed window.

Amazon Has Already Committed to More Reacher

Prime Video appears confident that there’s plenty of life left in the franchise.

Reacher has already received a sixth-season renewal, even with its next season still in production.

The bigger unanswered question concerns Neagley.

Despite the spin-off reaching No. 1, the announcement concerning Reacher’s future did not include confirmation of another season for Maria Sten’s series.

Its performance certainly gives fans something to watch.

After years of appearing as Reacher’s fiercely dependable ally, Frances Neagley finally received eight episodes of her own — and promptly climbed above the man whose series made her a fan favorite in the first place.
