Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are reportedly facing a mixed reception from some residents in the Cotswolds, with several locals quoted as expressing frustration over the Duchess’s presence in the area.
The Sussexes are understood to have settled in an isolated 18th-century farmhouse in the Cotswolds countryside after returning to Britain with their family. But reports suggest their arrival has not been universally welcomed.

Some Locals Reportedly Unimpressed By Meghan
American journalist Paula Froelich reported that the couple received a lukewarm reception from some people in the area.
One resident was quoted as saying: “People really just don’t like her.”
Another report claimed Meghan is regularly seen at Daylesford Organic Farm Shop in Moreton-in-Marsh. An insider alleged that the Duchess arrives alone with a group of bodyguards during busy shopping periods and “walks around as if she is very important.”
Gloucestershire Live also reported complaints from some locals about Meghan’s high-profile presence, describing it as “terribly inconvenient and annoying”.
Others were reportedly more dismissive, with one suggestion being to “just ignore her.”
Security Has Become Another Source Of Tension

Meghan and Harry’s security arrangements have also attracted criticism.
Other reports claimed some residents viewed Meghan’s focus on security as excessive, while the Mirror reported allegations that certain employees at The Three Horseshoes pub had “refused to serve” her.
These claims have not been independently confirmed.
The couple have faced renewed scrutiny over their security situation since returning to the UK, particularly as a review of their state-funded protection continues.
Their security arrangements were downgraded following their decision to step back from royal duties, and the latest review has become a significant issue for the Sussexes.
Reports Of A Possible Return To The US

Amid the ongoing security dispute, there have been reports that Harry and Meghan could consider returning to the United States permanently if the review does not result in the level of protection they want.
Royal commentator Angela Levin criticised the couple’s position during an appearance on TalkTV, accusing them of attempting to pressure authorities over the outcome.
“It’s blackmail, isn’t it?” Levin said.
She argued that if the couple chose to return to the US, she would be pleased, while also questioning why British taxpayers should fund their security.
The comments came as the Sussexes’ UK return continued to generate debate over their expectations around protection and their future in Britain.
Children’s School Also Linked To Security Concerns
The family’s security concerns have also reportedly affected Archie and Lilibet’s schooling.
Harry and Meghan were reported to have removed their two children from their new school in the Cotswolds after a security concern involving their journey to the school. Their convoy was reportedly separated by school traffic, adding to concerns over how the children could be transported safely.
Associates of the Sussexes have allegedly suggested that the couple could relocate back to America if they are denied taxpayer-funded police protection.
For now, however, their future plans remain uncertain, while reports of a divided reception in the Cotswolds add another layer to the scrutiny surrounding the family’s return to the UK.
