A question on The Chase left viewers struggling to understand how it had made it onto the show, after Bradley Walsh appeared to give away the answer while reading it aloud.

The moment came during the 27 September episode of the ITV quiz show, which featured Kane from Uxbridge, Harry from Bangor, Kelly from Norwich and Chloe from Corby.

But it was Kelly’s question in the Final Chase that caught viewers’ attention, with some joking that it was among the easiest questions ever asked on the programme.

Bradley Walsh’s question leaves viewers stunned

After making it through to the Final Chase, Kelly and Harry were attempting to build a score that would keep them ahead of the Chaser.

Walsh then asked Kelly:

“Whose Twitter (X) handle is @kourtneykardashian?”

The answer was, of course, Kourtney Kardashian.

Kelly immediately gave the name, appearing to look up as though she could hardly believe how straightforward the question was.

The question prompted plenty of amusement among viewers, particularly because Walsh had effectively included the celebrity’s name in the handle he read out.

There was another detail that made the moment even more awkward. Kourtney Kardashian’s X username is actually @kourtneykardash, rather than @kourtneykardashian. Public records of her X account identify the username as @kourtneykardash.

Viewers react to the “easiest” question

The unusual question quickly became a talking point on social media.

One viewer described it as “the dumbest question ever on that show”, while another jokingly suggested that the Kourtney Kardashian question had been particularly difficult.

A third viewer poked fun at the question by suggesting that, across the show’s 15-year run, asking whose Twitter handle was @kourtneykardashian must rank among the most difficult questions ever put to contestants.

The reaction was understandable given the format of the Final Chase, where contestants normally face a rapid series of questions while attempting to stay ahead of the Chaser.

How The Chase works

The Chase sees four contestants compete as a team for a cash prize.

During the first stage, each contestant has 60 seconds to answer as many questions as possible, building money for the team.

They then face one of the show’s professional quizzers, known as a Chaser. The Chaser attempts to catch the contestant by answering questions correctly and moving along the board.

If a contestant is caught, their money is lost and the remaining players continue towards the Final Chase.

Those who make it through then work together to build a score during the final round. The Chaser has two minutes to catch them, while the team attempts to stay ahead by answering questions correctly.

If the team survives, the prize money is shared between the remaining contestants.

Kelly and Harry miss out on £5,000

Despite the unusually straightforward Kourtney Kardashian question, Kelly and Harry’s Final Chase ultimately did not end with a cash prize.

The pair were playing for £5,000 and managed to put 17 points on the board.

However, Mark “The Beast” Labbett caught them with 23 seconds still remaining.

As a result, Kelly and Harry were eliminated without taking home the £5,000.

The moment nevertheless gave viewers plenty to talk about, with the wording of Walsh’s question, and the fact that the handle itself was technically incorrect, making it one of the more memorable moments from the episode.
