CAT DEELEY AND BEN SHEPHARD CARRY ON THIS MORNING’S LEGENDARY NTA HANGOVER TRADITION — ‘WE WERE WORKING VERY HARD’

CAT DEELEY AND BEN SHEPHARD TURNED UP TO THIS MORNING LOOKING LIKE THEY HAD CELEBRATED THEIR NTA WIN A LITTLE TOO WELL — AND JAMIE OLIVER KNEW EXACTLY WHAT THEY NEEDED.
The This Morning presenters had barely recovered from their big National Television Awards victory when they were back in the studio the next morning — proudly clutching their gong and admitting it had been a “very late night.”
Cat Deeley, 49, and Ben Shephard, 51, opened Wednesday’s show in high spirits after This Morning won the award for Best Daytime Show, alongside Friday hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.
But there was one small problem.
They were clearly feeling the night before.

Jamie Oliver comes to the rescue
Fortunately, Jamie Oliver was waiting in the kitchen with exactly what the presenters needed: bacon and egg sandwiches, brown sauce and chilli.
The pair groaned with delight as Jamie served up the recovery breakfast.
“Smoky bacon and egg sandwiches, brown sauce and chilli. I’ve sorted you right out,” he told them.
Jamie even explained his reasoning, claiming chilli’s capsaicin could help after a heavy night.
Ben was happy to accept the diagnosis.
“We were working very hard celebrating on behalf of all our fans,” he said, with a telling glint in his eye.
Even the show’s director had apparently joined in the celebrations.
“The director was out very late last night. It was a very late night,” Ben revealed.
But where was the trophy?

As the show opened, Cat proudly held up their award before turning to Ben.
“It’s really heavy, isn’t it? You almost lost it, this morning, didn’t you?” she joked.
Ben confirmed they had managed to get the trophy back safely — although perhaps not entirely unscathed.
“We got it here, might have a little graze on it, but that’s another story for another day.”
It was the perfect aftermath to a night that had clearly gone well beyond the red carpet.
Cat reveals the moment her son woke up

Cat also revealed that she had actually left the celebrations relatively early because she normally has one of her young sons sleeping beside her.
But that didn’t stop Milo from finding out about the result.
She recalled how he came into her bed at around 2am and asked:
“Mum, did you win?!”
Cat’s response was simple.
“Yes, now close your eyes and go back to sleep.”
Holly and Phil’s tradition lives on

The chaotic morning-after appearance also revived one of This Morning‘s most famous NTA traditions.
Back in 2016, former hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield famously arrived at work after the awards looking worse for wear, with their stained outfits from the night before becoming part of the show’s enduring NTA folklore.
Over the years, their post-awards appearances became a familiar source of amusement for viewers.
Now Cat and Ben appear to have taken up the mantle.

And after finally getting their hands on the Best Daytime Show trophy, they certainly seemed determined to enjoy the victory — even if Wednesday morning came with a bacon sandwich, a little chilli and a few regrets.
For This Morning, the award may have been the official prize.
The morning after was clearly part of the celebration too.
