“‘WHEN THOSE UNIFORMS PICKED UP GUITARS, THEY DID MORE THAN PLAY A SONG—THEY REMINDED AMERICA WHAT IT STANDS FOR.’” As flags waved from coast to coast, four active-duty members of the U.S. Army Field Band’s Six-String Soldiers delivered a moving rendition of **”This Land Is Your Land”** that struck a powerful chord with audiences nationwide.

If four active-duty soldiers playing one of the most well-known songs about America doesn’t make you feel patriotic, we don’t know what will.

To celebrate Independence Day in 2017, the Six-String Soldiers, which at the time consisted of Master Sergeant Peter Krasulski, Sergeant First Class Glenn Robertson, Sergeant First Class Tom Lindsey, and Staff Sergeant James Little, shared their version of the famous folk song “This Land Is Your Land” on their Facebook page.

While marching in unison throughout many different locations, the quartet beautifully harmonized their way through the Woody Guthrie classic.

“As we celebrate 241 years of Independence, we thank the generations of hardworking Americans from all different backgrounds and beliefs that have built this nation,” they wrote accompanying the video. “We are proud to serve you!”

Who are the Six-String Soldiers?

This Land is Your Land

According to their website, they are a component of the United States Army Field Band and are the “most followed military music group in the world.” They are comprised of five active-duty musicians and perform all over the world. They have also appeared on the shows The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Morning Express with Robin Meade, Harry with Harry Connick Jr., and Hallmark Channel’s Home & Family show.

Their videos online have garnered nearly 300 million views on their Facebook videos! They perform bluegrass and country music, as well as acoustic covers of popular songs, including “Wagon Wheel,” “Seven Spanish Angels,” and more.

The video truly represents all the different parts of America – rural, urban, and everything in between. We dare you to try and not sing along; it’s almost impossible! Watch their inspiring version of “This Land Is Your Land” below.
