Vicky McClure Returns as Trigger Point Season 4 Gets ITV Premiere Date

Vicky McClure is heading back to ITV as bomb disposal expert Lana Washington, with the fourth season of Trigger Point now confirmed to premiere on Sunday, August 30 at 9pm on ITV1.
The new instalment will consist of six episodes, all of which will also be available to stream on ITVX.
McClure once again leads the crime thriller as Lana, an experienced explosives officer, or EXPO, whose work places her at the centre of some of the most dangerous situations in London.
This time, however, the scale of the threat appears to be greater than ever.
Lana Washington Faces an ‘Unprecedented’ Threat

An explosive trailer released earlier this month offered the first indication of what Lana and her team will be facing when the series returns.
The footage shows them responding to what is described as an “unprecedented” threat to the capital.
Commander Nia Quentin, played by newcomer Julie Graham, goes even further in describing the severity of the situation, calling it “the biggest terror attack this country’s seen”.
The storyline will once again put Lana and her colleagues under intense pressure as they attempt to protect London from explosive devices and terrorist threats.
The new episodes follow the success of the previous three seasons, which have helped establish Trigger Point as one of ITV’s popular crime thrillers.
Familiar Faces Return Alongside New Cast Members
McClure will be joined by several returning cast members.
Eric Shango reprises his role as Danny, with Nabil Elouahabi returning as Hass. Natalie Simpson is back as DS Helen Morgan, while Maanuv Thiara once again plays DCI Batra.
Season four will also introduce new characters, including Julie Graham as Commander Nia Quentin and Jonas Armstrong in a new role.
Behind the camera, Chris Brandon has written the six-part season, with Jennie Darnell and Nirpal Bhogal directing.
Line of Duty creator Jed Mercurio serves as an executive producer alongside McClure, who continues to play an important role behind the scenes as well as leading the cast.
Vicky McClure ‘Cannot Wait’ to Continue Lana’s Story

ITV Director of Drama Polly Hill welcomed the return of the thriller, predicting another tense run for viewers.
“I’m delighted that this thrilling series is returning for a fourth series,” she said.
“I know audiences will be once again on the edge of their seat as Lana and the team take us on another thrilling ride to keep the capital safe.”
McClure has also spoken enthusiastically about returning to the production.
“I love working with the team, we have a great time making the show and I cannot wait to continue Lana’s journey on Trigger Point,” she said.
The series has also attracted positive critical attention during its run. A critic for The Sydney Morning Herald praised McClure’s performance, saying her “intensity makes it a winner,” while a critic from Ask described the drama as “gripping” and packed with “adrenaline-fueled” sequences.
With season four now only days away, viewers will soon discover exactly what Lana and her team are facing — and how they respond to the potentially devastating threat teased in the trailer.
Seasons one to three of Trigger Point are currently available on ITVX. Season four premieres Sunday, August 30 at 9pm on ITV1, with all six episodes also available to stream on ITVX.
