Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Six-Figure Private Jet Flight Revealed as Sussexes Begin Major UK Return

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s long-awaited return to Britain came with an eye-watering price tag, with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly spending well into six figures on a luxury private flight from Los Angeles to Birmingham.

According to Page Six, the couple chartered a Bombardier Global Express XRS operated through private aviation company Planet 9 for the roughly 10-hour transatlantic journey.

Aviation estimates put the aircraft’s charter cost at approximately $12,000 per hour, potentially making the flight alone worth around $120,000 before any additional expenses.

The lavish journey comes as Harry and Meghan begin what has been described as an “extended period” in Britain — six years after stepping away from royal duties and building a new life in Montecito, California.

The aircraft used for the journey was reportedly refurbished in 2023 and is designed for long-distance private travel.

It can accommodate as many as 13 passengers and includes two bathrooms, five beds capable of sleeping six people and storage space for approximately 12 to 15 medium-sized suitcases.

The Sussexes were spotted arriving in Birmingham following their journey from California.

While the enormous potential cost immediately attracted attention, a source offered one practical explanation for the couple’s decision to avoid a commercial flight.

According to the insider, Harry and Meghan wanted to bring two of their family dogs to Britain: their black Labrador, Pula, and beagle, Mia.

Their chickens, meanwhile, are reportedly staying behind at their Montecito property.

The family’s chicken coop, Archie’s Chick Inn — named after their 7-year-old son — previously appeared on Meghan’s Netflix series With Love, Meghan.

Harry and Meghan are also parents to 5-year-old daughter Lilibet.

The Sussexes are returning six years after Megxit

The expensive flight represents more than another international trip for the couple.

Harry and Meghan recently announced plans to return to the United Kingdom for an “extended period,” marking a significant change after spending the past six years primarily based in California.

“I know that Charles is the reason they are moving back,” the source claimed.

The source further claimed that the King “looks forward” to spending time with Harry and Meghan following their return.

The development could give father and son considerably more opportunity to see one another after years in which Harry’s life in California placed thousands of miles between them.

Archie and Lilibet are expected to attend school in England

The move could also represent a major adjustment for Harry and Meghan’s children.

Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, are expected to begin attending school in England later this month, according to the report.

The family will nevertheless maintain its ties to California.

Harry and Meghan reportedly plan to keep their Montecito property rather than permanently abandoning their American home.

That arrangement would potentially allow the Sussexes to maintain lives on both sides of the Atlantic while continuing their independent commercial projects.
