A royal expert has shed light on why the public doesn’t get to see clear images of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s two children. While Meghan Markle has posted some images, the children are often pictured from a distance or with their faces not visible.
Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson suggests it’s related to how Harry grew up, that he was always in the public eye, and now he’s hypersensitive. On the A Right Royal podcast, the expert offered an explanation, reports Daily Express US. Wilkinson said: “My understanding of this, or up to a certain stage, is that Harry would much rather his children were not seen. He doesn’t want them to be tapped.”

He added: “He’s got this idea that if he takes them outside of Montecito, there’s a horde of us out there trying to take pictures of his kids – they’re not by the way.”
The expert also pointed out that Meghan, having grown up differently in California, wouldn’t necessarily want to keep the children hidden.
He said: “She doesn’t want to hide them away and we’ve seen this, haven’t we, more and more with the use of Lilibet and Archie.”
Both Archie and Lilibet have been increasingly featured in Instagram photos since Meghan returned to the platform at the beginning of 2025.

The Sussexes were all hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House in a private reunion – from which hardly any details have emerged.
King Charles had reportedly been keen to see his grandchildren after not seeing them for some years.
