Blue Lights' Season 4: Everything We Know About The Belfast Drama's Fourth Season

The next chapter of Blue Lights is set to bring its officers face-to-face with a threat unlike any they have encountered before.

The BBC has released the first trailer for Season 4 of Blue Lights, offering an early glimpse at the new challenges facing Constables Grace Ellis, Tommy Foster and Annie Conlon as they continue their work as response officers.

Three years into their careers, the trio are already being pushed to their limits. Now, a new danger is emerging on the streets — one that even the police are struggling to contain.

But the threat outside the station is only part of the story.

A murder trial exposes a buried secret

At the centre of the new season is the murder trial of Gerry Cliff, played by Richard Dormer.

As the proceedings unfold, they bring a dangerous and long-hidden secret to light. The revelation threatens to create turmoil not only within the police but also throughout the criminal underworld.

For Grace, Tommy and Annie, the fallout comes at a crucial point in their careers. Each is facing difficult decisions about what their future should look like, while the escalating crisis forces them to confront a threat that reaches far beyond the streets they patrol.

Ultimately, they will have to find the courage to face something even more difficult than the danger around them: the truth.

Familiar faces return

Season 4 will see several established members of the Blue Lights cast return.

Richard Dormer reprises his role as Gerry Cliff in a special one-off episode, while Cathy Tyson returns as private members club owner Dana Morgan.

Also coming back are Hannah McClean as solicitor Jen Robinson, Jonathan Harden as Inspector “Jonty” Johnston and Michael Smiley as C3 intelligence officer Paul “Colly” Collins.

Their return adds further connections to the increasingly complicated story surrounding the murder trial and the secrets it brings to the surface.

The sequence looked almost meaningless, and with the clock ticking, Ryan ran out of time without an answer. But Zoe spotted the connection — and her answer, “LABEL,” was correct.
