Meghan Markle reportedly sets one condition for making peace with Princess Catherine

Meghan Markle may be open to repairing her relationship with Princess Catherine following her return to the UK — but reportedly only if one important boundary is respected.

The Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry returned to Britain last week with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, after spending six years living in the United States.

The family is reportedly planning to remain in the UK for an “extended period”, although it is still unclear exactly how long they will stay or where they will establish a permanent base. The Cotswolds has been widely suggested as one possible destination.

Their return has inevitably renewed attention on the strained relationships between Harry and Meghan and the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Once regularly seen together at royal occasions, the two couples have since experienced a significant deterioration in their relationship following the Sussexes’ departure from Britain.

Meghan reportedly wants peace — but not at any cost

According to the National Examiner, Meghan, 45, is reportedly interested in healing the rift with Catherine, 44.

However, the report claims she does not want reconciliation to come at the expense of her own dignity or personal boundaries.

A source quoted by the publication claimed Meghan “isn’t going to grovel to anybody, least of all Kate”.

The same insider alleged that Meghan has established “very strong boundaries” to protect herself from experiences she considers traumatic.

If accurate, those boundaries could become a key factor in any attempt to rebuild the relationship between the sisters-in-law.

Rather than simply returning to the closeness they once appeared to share, a renewed relationship could require both women to accept the past while agreeing not to reopen old conflicts.

Harry, Meghan and the Royal Family face a complicated reunion

The Sussexes’ decision to spend an extended period in Britain has once again raised questions about whether they could become more closely connected with the Royal Family.

For Archie and Lilibet, being based closer to their royal relatives could potentially create more opportunities to build relationships with their cousins, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

But rebuilding those family connections would depend on more than geography.

Harry’s relationship with Prince William has remained deeply strained, while Meghan and Catherine have largely followed separate paths since Harry and Meghan stepped down as working royals.

Their return to Britain therefore places old tensions in a very different setting. With the Sussexes reportedly beginning to establish a new life closer to Harry’s family, maintaining distance from those unresolved relationships may become more difficult.

For Meghan, according to the report, the possibility of peace with Catherine may still be open — but only if reconciliation does not require her to abandon the boundaries she believes are necessary.

Whether that condition can ultimately make room for a genuine family rapprochement remains uncertain.
