Princess Eugenie’s new baby has rare trait hardly seen in Royal Family
Princess Eugenie ’s newborn has a rare trait that she only shares with one other member of the Royal Family. The baby girl, who was born on the evening of August 3 this year, is one of two royals so far that is part of Generation Beta.
‘Gen Beta’ is the name being given to the generation of babies born between 2025 and 2039 that could end up being the first generation to live into the 22nd century. It is believed this will be the generation to grow up with AI being used everywhere. It is also believed that this generation will get to witness self-driving cars, as well as virtual immersive experiences will be part of their everyday lives.
The only other royal that is part of this generation so far is Eugenie’s baby’s cousin Athena Mapelli Mozzi, who was born last year. Athena is the second and youngest daughter of Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank are yet to name their newborn, who was born earlier this week in Portugal.
The new royal baby is the couple’s third child, with Eugenie and Jack already proud parents to August and Ernest. Announcing her birth, Eugenie shared a photograph of her and Jack’s baby on Instagram.
She wrote: “Jack and I are so excited to announce Baby Girl Brooksbank!! We are beyond in love with our girlie.”

Buckingham Palace also issued a statement about the arrival of the couple’s baby, who is 15th-in-line to the throne.
The Palace said: “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter, born on Monday, 3rd August 2026, at 6.20pm, at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal.
“The baby was born weighing 6 pounds 9 ounces.
“Their Majesties The King and Queen and other members of The Royal Family were delighted to be informed of the news.”
It is not known whether any members of the family are yet to see the newborn baby, including Eugenie’s parents Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson.
