“‘THE UBER RIDE LASTED A FEW MINUTES… BUT TOBY KEITH TURNED IT INTO A FOURTH OF JULY MEMORY FANS WILL NEVER FORGET.’” With the windows down and a karaoke microphone in hand, Toby Keith belted out “Courtesy of the Red, White & Blue” from the back of an Uber, grinning through every lyric like it was the biggest stage in America. Filmed just months before his passing, the lighthearted throwback has become an emotional Fourth of July tradition, reminding fans why no one celebrated the red, white, and blue quite like The Big Dog Daddy. This Independence Day, countless fans are singing along in his honor.

4th Of July Throwback: Toby Keith Sings “Courtesy Of The Red, White & Blue” In The Back Of His Uber

Toby Keith July 4th

Nothing screams “AMERICA” like this video of the late, great Toby Keith singing one of his most patriotic songs in the back of an Uber (with the windows down) equipped with a karaoke machine.

The Big Dog Daddy was obviously famous for being one of the best country music singers to ever do it. But he was also known for being someone who loved every second of life, and never passed up an opportunity to have a good time. Back in 2023, Keith got in an Uber that just so happened to have karaoke capabilities, and being him… he took the opportunity and made it iconic.

Toby Keith’s official social media pages recently shared this throwback video of the legend doing his version of Carpool Karaoke, and it’s sure to bring a smile to your face. And with the 4th of July weekend finally here, it’ll also get you in the spirit to celebrate the United States of America.

Toby Keith's 'Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue' Helped Bring POW Patrick Miller Home on

That’s because this video let the world know that Toby Keith’s go-to karaoke song was actually a song out of his very own catalogue: “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American).” The clip shows Toby Keith in the back of an Uber singing every lyric of his hit 2002 tune and loving every second of it.

When the video picks up, Toby is towards the finale of the song, and he even changed up the “Statue of Liberty” line a bit:

“Cause we’ll put a boot in your ass
It’s the American way
Hey Uncle Sam put your name at the top of his list
And the Statue of Liberty started getting real pissed
And the eagle will fly, man it’s gonna be hell
When you hear mother freedom start ringin’ her bell
And it feels like the whole wide world is raining down on you
Oh, brought to you courtesy of the red white and blue.”

Never gets old.

Like I mentioned earlier, the video was originally posted in July of 2023, just seven months or so before Keith passed away. He still had his powerful voice and a smile on his face despite all that he was going through at the time. The Big Dog Daddy was even able to produce this moment that will be beloved and revisited for years to come… especially around this time of the year:

“Kicking off the holiday weekend by throwing it back to that time Toby did karaoke of his own song. Who’s gonna be singing it loud and proud to celebrate 250 years of the red, white and blue?”

If that doesn’t get you in the 4th of July spirit, I don’t know what will.

Fans in the comments of the post were happy to see the video of Toby Keith, and admitted that it evokes both happy and sad emotions. Nothing beats hearing the Big Dog Daddy’s voice, and everyone wishes that he was still here with us to celebrate the holiday that he – a proud American – loved.

RIP Toby Keith… everyone make sure to sing a little “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue” this 4th of July in his honor.
