Tom Hardy’s Harry Da Souza Faces a Family on the Brink as ‘MobLand’ Season 2 Reaches Its Midpoint
With the Harrigan crime empire under mounting pressure and loyalties within the family beginning to fracture, Tom Hardy’s Harry Da Souza faces an increasingly dangerous battle in MobLand. The Paramount+ crime thriller has reached the halfway point of its second season, and a newly released midseason trailer signals that the remaining episodes could bring even greater turmoil.
Hardy has built a reputation for portraying tough, troubled characters, and Harry is another compelling example. As the Harrigans’ trusted fixer, he is expected to contain crises and protect the family’s interests. But with threats emerging from outside and inside the organization, keeping the powerful crime dynasty together is becoming an increasingly difficult task.
Five episodes into the 10-episode season, the latest footage offers a glimpse of the challenges ahead.

The Harrigans Are Running Out of Options
The midseason trailer opens with Harry acknowledging the severity of the situation: “We are in a crisis.”
Conrad Harrigan, played by Pierce Brosnan, responds by asking what options remain. His son Kevin, portrayed by Paddy Considine, delivers a bleak assessment: “We’re woefully short of options.”
The exchange reflects the predicament facing the family. The Harrigans have suffered attacks close to home, internal loyalties are becoming less dependable, and their grip on power is increasingly vulnerable.

The trailer also shows Seraphina, played by Mandeep Dhillon, meeting with McAllister. The encounter raises further questions about the divisions within the family and whether Conrad and Maeve Harrigan fully understand how deep those fractures have become.
As the season progresses, Harry must navigate competing interests and shifting alliances while trying to prevent the situation from spiraling further out of control.
Behind-the-Scenes Tensions Raised Questions About Tom Hardy’s Future

The drama surrounding MobLand has extended beyond the screen. Earlier in 2026, reports of friction between Hardy and showrunner Jez Butterworth cast uncertainty over the actor’s future with the series.
Those concerns were resolved sufficiently for Paramount+ to confirm a third-season renewal on September 3, before Season 2 even premiered. Hardy, Brosnan and Helen Mirren are all set to return, securing the show’s future as its current storyline grows more volatile.
Mirren also publicly dismissed the idea that the reported tensions had undermined her enthusiasm for the production.
“We absolutely love working with [Hardy], we love doing the show, and that’s all there really is to it,” she said.
The renewal gives the creative team room to continue developing the Harrigans’ story beyond the current season. While the fictional family faces an uncertain future, the series itself has already secured another chapter.
The Road to the Season 2 Finale

Created by Ronan Bennett, whose previous work includes Top Boy, MobLand is unafraid to place its characters in dangerous situations. That approach has become particularly important in Season 2, as the Harrigans struggle to maintain control while facing threats from multiple directions.
With five episodes remaining, the central question is whether the show can sustain its escalating tension without losing the emotional stakes that make the family’s power struggle compelling. The midseason trailer suggests that safety will remain uncertain as old alliances weaken and new conflicts emerge.
Episode 6 of MobLand Season 2 arrives on Paramount+ on Friday, October 23, 2026. New episodes are released weekly, with the 10-episode season scheduled to conclude on November 20.
The Harrigans may be running out of options, but with a third season confirmed, their story is far from over.
