During a recent interview with Collider at 2024’s CCXP MX panel, Louis Leterrier provided an update on the production timeline of Fast & Furious 11.
The director confirmed that the last mainline instalment in the action-packed franchise won’t be hitting its original release date of April 4, 2025.
Instead, it’s now targeting a Summer 2026 release, with filming slated to begin this fall.
Fast XI, also known as Fast & Furious 11, is now scheduled to hit theaters in the summer of 2026. As the next chapter in the Fast & Furious saga, this film will continue the high-octane, action-packed storyline that has captivated audiences for over two decades.
Originally expected to release earlier, the shift to a 2026 release may leave fans eager for more, but the franchise’s history of delivering thrilling stunts, emotional moments, and a strong ensemble cast promises that it will be worth the wait. This installment is expected to push the limits of the Fast & Furious universe, with Vin Diesel, along with other familiar faces, returning for another adrenaline-fueled ride.

Louis Leterrier said, “It’s happening. It’s happening very, very soon. I’m able to shoot a little horror movie this summer. I’m finishing my horror movie on September 15th, and I start Fast on September 16th.”
Fast & Furious 11 is currently in the initial phases of production, not much information about the plot or casting has been revealed yet.
It is set to follow the thrilling adventures of Dom Toretto and his family, picking up right after the events of Fast X.

Vin Diesel will probably reprise his lead role, along with other cast members like Jason Statham, Helen Mirren, and Gal Gadot, among others.
Several other actors are also expected to return to their previous roles. Additionally, Dwayne Johnson‘s appearance in the post-credits scenes hints that he may have a bigger part in Fast & Furious 11, along with potential comebacks by Eva Mendes as Monica Fuentes.
Fast XI aka Fast & Furious 11 is now expected to hit theatre in summer 2026.
