At Rome’s famed Colosseum, Andrea Bocelli and Elton John had a beautiful duet.
YouTubers are raving about Andrea Bocelli and Elton John’s amazing duet on “Circle of Life,” despite the fact that they may not be the kind of couple you would have chosen despite their both having great stage presence.
Tim Rice and Elton John wrote “Circle of Life” for the 1994 animated movie The Lion King, in case you didn’t know. The Academy Award for best song that year went to Can You Feel the Love Tonight, another song from the same movie that was also written by John and Rice, but “Circle of Life” has long been a favorite among music fans.

However, it received a completely different treatment last September when Elton John performed alongside the well-known Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli at Rome’s famous Colosseum. The event was part of a seven-day music festival in the ancient city that was organized to raise money for both the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Centre and Bocelli’s own foundation.
Other stars who performed during the week of events in Rome’s most famous landmarks included Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, pianist David Foster, country singer Reba McEntire and Motown veteran Smokey Robinson, but few could hold a candle to the stage magic of Elton John and Andrea Bocelli.
And since then, a video of the two performing has attracted almost 60,000 views on YouTube, where fans thanked them for the musical gifts they’d brought to the world. “This song touches the soul,” one viewer said, while another just said, “Beautiful and the end … Bocelli … what a voice … I love them both”.
