“‘HE LOST HIS LEG AS A CHILD… BUT HE NEVER LOST HIS VISION OF WHAT HE COULD BECOME.’” After a devastating tractor accident in childhood resulted in the loss of his leg, 23-year-old Rubén Roldán refused to let his future be defined by tragedy. Taking the AGT stage, the Spanish athlete removed his prosthetic leg and stunned the audience with a fearless parkour performance that defied expectations.

America’s Got Talent is back for Season 21 with a brand new set of contestants. Among the contestants is 23 year old Rubén Roldán Bustos, a parkour artist from Spain.

Simon Cowell Hits Golden Buzzer for Parkour Act

During Tuesday night’s episode, Rubén Roldán Bustos took the America’s Got Talent stage. Although the 23 year old was nervous, he hopes to win the series with his act. Rubén’s goal is to inspire people and also bring parkour around the world.

He began his act with a bang, taking off his prosthetic leg. He then performed a series of jumps out from of the Pasadena Civic center. He then rode a bike before continuing his impressive parkour set. Without as much as a misstep, Rubén parkoured his way back inside, until he performed a series of tricks and flips from an indoor parkour gym.

Once this audition was over, the audience and judges stood for him. After the act, Rubén explained that he got into an accident as a child involving a tractor. Simon Cowell called the act “bloody fantastic” before hitting the Golden Buzzer.

Who is Rubén Roldán Bustos?

This golden buzzer contestant first rose to prominence in 2016, when he auditioned for the first ever season of Spain’s Got Talent, alongside Álex Segura. Together, they performed together under the name Extreme Parkour. In 2019, he continued his Got Talent journey, auditioning for Das Supertalent.

In addition to his accomplishments on the Got Talent stage, Rubén holds a slew of Guinness World Records. His records include, Most consecutive parkour retour jumps; Highest running jump onto a platform; Farthest standing jump parkour dash; Highest vertical leap with a running start. All of his records were broken under the LA1 impairment category, which means others in the category also have a unilateral above-the-knee amputation.
