Netflix fans are urging people to check out a binge-worthy sci-fi show on the streaming platform that has gone relatively unnoticed, but achieved a rare and perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

When looking for something new to watch, it can be easy to get overwhelmed by the various options which are available at the press of a button. But if you find that nothing you’ve started watching is holding up to some of your previous favourite shows or films, there are plenty of TV and film fans out there who are happy to share their recommendations.

This was why one person took to Reddit to ask for recommendations for a new series to watch, leaving others to urge them to watch a lesser-known sci-fi show on Netflix called Travelers.

Posting on the Netflix subreddit, one user had requested suggestions, stating they ‘needed’ a new programme to watch. They added: “I’m kind of picky I prefer longer shows with multiple seasons, longer episodes, and most importantly a really good story/plot that keeps you wanting to watch.”

They also listed some of their favourite series, including Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Ozark, and Suits. “I’m looking for something with a strong story/plot, multiple seasons, and enough episodes to really get invested in,” they added.

Other users were quick to share their suggestions, but one TV series that was mentioned over and over again was Travelers, a 2016 Netflix show with a rare, perfect rating score on Rotten Tomatoes.

“TRAVELERS!! Guaranteed you will love it,” one user enthused. Another wrote: “Finally another that has enjoyed the series. Most folks have never heard of it.”

A third user added: “I love Travelers. I’ve even rewatched it. So underrated and I’m not really sure why.”

Travelers is a science fiction television series set in a post-apocalyptic world centuries into the future, where the remaining survivors discover a method of sending consciousness back through time.

They opt to transmit their consciousness into random individuals living in the 21st century, while endeavouring to alter the course of humanity’s future.

Equipped solely with their knowledge of history and an archive of social media profiles, the travelers — among them an FBI agent, a single mother and a college student — quickly realise that 21st-century relationships prove just as challenging as their high-stakes missions.

The first season first appeared on Netflix in 2016, running for three series before the streaming giant axed it, much to the disappointment of its devoted fanbase.

Since it premiere, viewers have praised the plot’s unpredictability and its ‘fresh take’ on the concept of time travel. Audiences have also praised the strong performances and sharp writing throughout.

One reviewer commented: “It’s very addictive once you start watching it and will want to binge it as quickly as possible.”
