Harlan Coben’s 8-Part Crime Thriller Breaks Into Netflix’s Most Popular Shows of All Time

Harlan Coben has another major Netflix success on his hands.

The eight-part crime drama I Will Find You has continued its impressive run on the streaming platform, climbing into Netflix’s ranking of its most popular English-language shows of all time. After attracting 112.9 million views across its first nine weeks, the series now holds the No. 8 position on the all-time list.

Its momentum has not disappeared either. I Will Find You currently sits at No. 7 on Netflix’s weekly English TV chart after recording another 2.7 million views.

The achievement places Coben’s latest adaptation alongside some of Netflix’s biggest television successes, including Wednesday, Stranger Things, Bridgerton and The Queen’s Gambit.

I Will Find You Reaches Another Major Netflix Milestone

Based on Coben’s 2023 novel of the same name, I Will Find You premiered on June 18 and quickly established itself as one of Netflix’s biggest new dramas of the year.

Netflix confirmed shortly after its debut that the thriller had delivered the platform’s biggest series launch of 2026.

Its staying power has been equally notable. The series recently passed 50 days inside the U.S. Netflix Top 10, and its 112.9 million views during its first nine weeks have now pushed it into the streamer’s all-time Most Popular Shows ranking.

The performance represents another success for Coben, whose relationship with Netflix has produced a growing catalogue of mystery and crime adaptations since the two began working together in 2018.

Harlan Coben and Netflix’s Partnership Keeps Growing

Netflix currently offers 13 adaptations of Coben’s work.

The partnership began with Safe in 2018 and continued with The Stranger and The Woods in 2020. Those were followed by The Innocent, Gone for Good and Stay Close in 2021, and Hold Tight in 2022.

More recently came Fool Me Once in 2024, followed by Missing You, Just One Look and Caught in 2025. The 2026 releases Run Away and I Will Find You brought the total to 13.

With those adaptations continuing to attract viewers, Netflix is already moving forward with more projects based on Coben’s books.

Myron Bolitar Is Getting a Netflix Adaptation

Filming began in July on Myron Bolitar, an adaptation of Coben’s long-running series of novels.

The character first appeared in Deal Breaker in 1995, and Coben has since written 12 books featuring him.

Coben has previously described the Myron Bolitar novels as particularly precious to him, which contributed to his reluctance to sell the adaptation rights. His longstanding partnership with Netflix ultimately appears to have changed that position.

The story follows Myron Bolitar, a former basketball player who becomes a sports agent. His career, however, extends far beyond negotiating deals for athletes, as he finds himself risking his own life on behalf of his clients.

KJ Apa, known for Riverdale, leads the cast alongside Orange Is the New Black star Diane Guerrero.

The ensemble also includes Chloe Fineman of Saturday Night Live, Bel-Air star Jabari Banks, Sons of Anarchy actor Jamie McShane and Ra’Mya Latiah Aikens.

Netflix Is Also Returning to The Woods

Another Coben adaptation currently in production is a new version of The Woods.

Netflix has already adapted the novel once, releasing a Polish-language miniseries in 2020. This time, however, the story is being developed as an English-language adaptation.

Tom Bateman, Michelle Keegan and Mandeep Dhillon lead the cast. Keegan previously starred in another hugely successful Coben adaptation, Fool Me Once.

The mystery centres on Paul “Cope” Copeland and the disappearance of his sister, Camille.

Camille vanished from a summer camp in the woods, and Cope eventually came to believe she had been killed. He subsequently moved forward with his life, carrying the loss with him.

Twenty years later, however, a discovery throws everything he believed into doubt.

A man’s body is found — and the victim was supposedly murdered around the same time Camille disappeared.

The revelation forces Cope to reconsider the events of that summer and raises the possibility that his sister may actually have survived. Determined to discover the truth, he begins investigating what really happened all those years earlier.

Why The Woods Is Particularly Personal for Harlan Coben

For Coben, The Woods carries a more personal connection than many of his other stories.

Speaking to Netflix’s Tudum, the author described it as one of his most personal novels because of a similarity between himself and protagonist Paul Copeland.

Like Cope, Coben once worked as a counselor at a sleepaway camp despite being too young for the position.

With Myron Bolitar and the new English-language version of The Woods moving forward, Netflix’s collaboration with Coben shows no sign of slowing down.

Meanwhile, I Will Find You has provided the partnership with another significant milestone. What started as the latest eight-part adaptation has now become one of Netflix’s most-watched English-language series of all time, with 112.9 million views recorded during its first nine weeks.
