Prince Archie Could Follow Prince George to Eton — Expert Reveals Why His Age May Be Crucial

Prince Archie could one day follow in the footsteps of his cousin Prince George and attend one of Britain’s most prestigious schools, according to royal experts.

The seven-year-old has already begun a new chapter in the UK after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly moved their family back to Britain last month. Archie and his younger sister, Princess Lilibet, are now enrolled at a British school, although the institution has not been publicly identified.

The children are believed to be day pupils, with their school thought to be close to the Sussexes’ new privately rented home. For security reasons, the exact location of the property will not be revealed, though it is understood to be outside London.

But Archie’s new British education could eventually lead him somewhere far more familiar to his father — Eton College.

Archie is now at a crucial age

Although Archie is still only seven, one expert believes his current age could be particularly important if the family hopes to secure a place for him at Eton in the future.

British Vogue writer Plum Sykes discussed the possibility on The Royalist podcast, pointing to the importance of choosing the right preparatory school at around Archie’s age.

She explained that children entering the Eton pipeline typically need to attend the right feeder school from around seven or eight.

Harry himself attended Eton, meaning the possibility of Archie eventually following the same educational path would carry an unmistakable family connection.

Sykes said she could not imagine there being another school the Sussexes would rather choose for their son than Eton.

Security could be a major factor

Royal expert Tom Sykes also suggested that Archie could eventually end up at Eton, with security potentially playing a significant role.

He argued that the school is particularly well equipped to accommodate children who require heightened protection, describing it as exceptionally secure because of the backgrounds of many of its pupils.

For Archie, whose parents and wider family remain among the world’s most recognisable public figures, that consideration could be especially important.

The Sussexes have reportedly placed considerable emphasis on security since stepping back from royal duties and moving to the United States.

George is about to begin his own Eton chapter

The possibility of Archie joining Eton in the future comes as Prince George prepares to begin his own time at the school.

George is expected to become a boarder, following a path that would make him the latest generation of the Royal Family to attend the prestigious institution.

Prince William has spoken warmly about his own school years there, while Harry’s relationship with his former school has appeared more complicated.

That creates an intriguing possibility for Archie.

If Harry and Meghan remain based in Britain permanently, Archie could eventually walk through the same gates as his father — and potentially follow his cousin George into an institution with a deep connection to the Royal Family.

For now, nothing has been confirmed about Archie attending Eton. But with the young prince now at what experts describe as a pivotal age, his new life in Britain could prove to be the first step toward a very familiar royal destination.
