Put the letters together and the answer appears: BOAT.

The word is concealed directly within the phrase, making the solution much easier to spot once the trick is revealed.

Two finalists, two wrong answers

Despite having 30 seconds to work it out, two Australian contestants reached the final question and neither managed to give the correct answer.

That left viewers watching at home baffled, with many claiming they had spotted the hidden word almost immediately.

Some viewers insisted the question was far too easy to be a genuine 1% challenge, with one claiming they had solved it in “about 2 seconds.” Another joked that they had hoped it was actually the 90% question, while others said their own pets could have worked it out.

There was also some debate over whether the question contained a possible trap. Viewers wondered whether the fact that the word “boat” was hidden in the message necessarily meant Bonnie’s accomplice would actually use a boat.

But there was no additional twist. The correct answer really was “boat.”
