Harry And Meghan’s Children Begin UK School — And Parents Have Been Given One Important Request

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children have officially begun their new life at school in Britain — and their new classmates’ parents have been given a very clear message as Archie and Lilibet settle into their new surroundings.

The Sussexes’ children, Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, started at an undisclosed school in England this week after the family moved from Montecito, California, to the UK in late August.

Now, a letter sent to parents has asked existing families to show the newcomers “the same warmth and kindness” that has helped make the school a special place.

Parents Asked To Make The Children Feel Welcome

According to a letter seen by HELLO!, the school referred to “a number of new families” joining its community this year.

It told parents: “I know that our existing families will extend to them the same warmth and kindness that makes our school such a special place.”

The Sussexes are thought to be living at a private, non-royal residence in the Cotswolds, although the family’s exact location has been kept private.

Archie is understood to be entering Year 3, while Lilibet begins Year 1 after the siblings previously attended different schools in the United States.

A Strict Rule Around Photos

The school has also reminded parents about its existing privacy rules, including a request not to post photographs of children other than their own on social media.

Its no-phone policy on school grounds has also been reiterated, with further guidance expected for school performances and other events where appropriate.

The approach is particularly significant given the intense public interest surrounding Harry and Meghan’s children and the family’s efforts to keep their private lives away from the spotlight.

Similar restrictions are already familiar within the wider royal family.

“No photography” signs were spotted at Eton College ahead of Prince George’s arrival for his first day this week. The Prince and Princess of Wales accompanied their eldest son to the Berkshire school, where he is following in his father William’s footsteps.

Meghan Once Worried About UK Schooling

The decision to educate Archie and Lilibet in Britain is also notable because Meghan previously spoke about her concerns over sending her children to school in the UK.

In her 2022 interview with The Cut, the Duchess described the possibility of their education becoming surrounded by intense media attention, including what she feared could turn into “a royal photo call with a press pen of 40 people snapping pictures.”

Three years later, the reality looks rather different.

Rather than becoming part of a public spectacle, Archie and Lilibet have begun their British education behind carefully protected privacy arrangements, with their school’s message to parents focused on kindness, discretion and keeping children’s images off social media.
