“I LOVE THE CHASE…” — GK BARRY REVEALS BRADLEY WALSH’S BRUTAL FIRST REACTION AS SHE CLAIMS HE “HATED” HER
GK Barry has lifted the lid on an awkward first meeting with Bradley Walsh, claiming The Chase star “hated” her and Chloe Burrows when they crossed paths at Soccer Aid.
The 27-year-old podcaster recalled the encounter on her Saving Grace podcast, revealing that she and Burrows had barely met Walsh before things became unexpectedly tense.
“Bradley Walsh HATED me and Chloe,” GK told listeners. “If there was a word for more than hated, it would be that.”
She remembered walking out and spotting Walsh, prompting her to tell him: “I love The Chase.”
His response left her immediately regretting the comment.
“Get your boots on,” Walsh reportedly told her.
“I was like… s***,” GK recalled.
The awkwardness apparently continued when the pair were asked to speak into microphones for a social media video during the match.
After they had finished filming, GK claimed Walsh shouted: “QUICK! Get them back on!”
Her reaction was simple: “F***ing hell.”
GK’s story comes as she faces a very different kind of scrutiny over her new BBC Radio 1 role.
The influencer recently made her debut with a two-hour Thursday afternoon show, replacing Mollie King and Matt Edmondson’s usual programme.
The show is pre-recorded, reportedly partly to avoid accidental swearing on live radio and to accommodate GK’s schedule, but the decision has divided listeners.
Some complained that Radio 1 had reduced Mollie and Matt to three days a week, while others questioned why GK’s programme was not broadcast live.
The BBC, however, defended the appointment, saying GK’s first show attracted “record numbers” and demonstrated the strong connection she has already built with Radio 1 listeners.
For GK, though, the Bradley Walsh story offered a much more chaotic introduction to another familiar face — and one she clearly hasn’t forgotten.
