England star Jude Bellingham urged fans not to go to work and children to stay off school after the Three Lions’ stunning 3-2 win over Mexico in Mexico City. The midfielder scored twice in just 98 seconds during the first half at the Azteca, helping to secure a victory alongside Harry Kane’s penalty.
Speaking to reporters after the game, he urged people to take the day off school and work following the very late night they would have had after the 2am kick-off. He said: “Text your bosses and tell them you’re not coming in, simple as that.

“Kids stay off school, parents don’t go to work, enjoy your day, have the day off if you can, these nights don’t come often.”
The 23-year-old Real Madrid star called the win the “best night of my England career, definitely”.
He said he’d been an England fan “since I was seven”, pointing to the 2010 World Cup as his first to experience.
He added: “Of course, in recent times we have had better moments, but I remember watching a few tournaments and seeing a few of the players that are now on TV talking about it,” he said.
“They struggled in these types of nights, and it was tough because it felt like the country never really got behind them.”
England managed to put an end to Mexico’s winning streak at their home stadium, in which they’ve lost only three times.
They also managed four clean sheets in four games before this morning’s fixture, and hadn’t conceded in the first half in their last 15 World Cup games.
Raúl Jiménez and Julián Quiñones both scored for the home team, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win, even against 10 men, after Jarell Quansah was sent off in the 54th minute.
