JUDE BELLINGHAM was left perplexed after being told that Thomas Tuchel was unhappy with England’s performance in the win over Norway.

The Three Lions’ match-winning hero, 23, was made aware of his manager’s highly critical comments during his own post-game media duties.

Speaking to ITV reporter Gabriel Clarke, Bellingham rolled his eyes before snapping: “Whatever.”

England had just pulled out a tense 2-1 extra-time win over Norway in sweltering Miami to reach the semi-final, largely thanks to a stunning match-winning brace from the talismanic midfielder.

But Tuchel wasn’t thrilled with his team’s performance.

While the players celebrated in the background, Tuchel spoke to the broadcaster where he broke down how he was disappointed with England‘s showing.

The German said: “Not happy with the performance…”

“We made life very, very difficult for ourselves today.

“The result is fantastic, we’re in the last four it’s amazing, but we’re not happy with the performance.

“The commitment is there but we made life very difficult for us in the way we played, how we played.

“Sloppy, lot of technical mistakes, not fast enough, not repetitive enough. We were lucky today.”

Tuchel was then asked if the pressure of the occasion had affected his players.

And the boss did not appreciate the question, snapping back: “It’s not a mentality problem — this is pure mentality.

“How can you ask about mentality now? This is pure mentality, you can bottle it up and sell it. It’s the quality of our games. That’s it. It has nothing to do with mentality.”

Next up on ITV came exhausted match-winner Bellingham.

And, as the Real Madrid superstar was made aware of Tuchel’s comments, he could not hide his frustration.

After his “whatever” and an eye roll, Bellingham added: “It is difficult out there. It was a tough shift.”

He then pointedly added that he was grateful to his team-mates who were on the pitch.

And it didn’t look like Bellingham was any happier with his manager in his post-match interview.

“Maybe he doesn’t know what it takes to play in those conditions against Erling Haaland, Nusa, Sorloth, that’s not an easy team to play against,” he said.

“I think we have tried to create a positive environment we should continue that into the final four.

“I can’t think highly enough of the lads. You’re not going to win every game popping a thousand passes, sometimes you have to win dirty.”

Bellingham and Tuchel have butted heads in the past.

Tuchel previously described Bellingham’s behaviour as “repulsive”, a comment he has since apologised for.

He also left Bellingham out of his Three Lions squad in October last year, leading to uncertainty over whether the talisman would make the World Cup squad.

Bellingham’s double against Norway took his total in the tournament to SIX goals in as many games.

England are now two wins away from potentially winning the nation’s second World Cup.
