Riley Green Brings Fan Onstage to Sing Ella Langley’s Part on “Don’t Mind If I Do,” and She Nailed It

The fan, Rachel, stepped up to perform Ella Langley’s part on Green’s duet “Don’t Mind If I Do.” Despite having no rehearsal or apparent time to prepare, she delivered the song with a voice that immediately impressed the crowd.

She didn’t miss a beat.

Getting in front of a packed audience and taking over a featured vocal part on the spot would be enough to make most people nervous. Rachel, however, handled the moment with remarkable confidence and sounded right at home alongside Green.

“Don’t Mind If I Do” originally features Ella Langley and appears on Green’s 2024 third studio album, which shares the song’s title.

Green wrote the song himself, and that solo-writing credit is worth noting. There is something particularly effective about the songs he writes on his own, with “Jesus Saves” being another strong example.

“Don’t Mind If I Do” stands among my favorite songs Green has released in years, which made hearing Rachel take on Langley’s part during a live performance even more special.
