ALISON HAMMOND RUSHED TO HOSPITAL AFTER CLUTCHING CHEST LIVE ON THIS MORNING — ‘I’M GETTING MY OLD TICKER CHECKED OUT’
Alison Hammond has revealed she was taken to hospital after a frightening health scare forced her to suddenly leave This Morning live on air.
The 51-year-old presenter had been hosting Friday’s programme with Dermot O’Leary when she began struggling during a conversation with TV vet Dr Scott Miller.
As the camera focused on Dr Scott, Alison could be heard breathing heavily before raising a hand to her chest. Dermot quickly helped her off screen, leaving the studio visibly concerned.
The programme then cut to an advert break.
When This Morning returned, Dermot was alone on the sofa and told viewers Alison was feeling “just a little unwell”.
He later confirmed she would not be returning to the programme that day.
‘I’M GETTING MY OLD TICKER CHECKED OUT’

Alison subsequently gave fans an update from her hospital bed, appearing in a gown while reassuring viewers that she was doing okay.
She explained that doctors had been checking her heart after she experienced palpitations.
“Hello, my lovelies, I know you’re all worried about me. Honestly, I am fine. I’m getting my old ticker checked out,” she said.
“I had a bit of a palpitation and now I’m getting it all checked out.”
Alison joked that she would “do anything to get a day off”, while hoping what happened had been a panic attack.
“I’m hoping it was a little panic attack,” she added.
She also apologised to viewers for suddenly leaving the programme, insisting that she would not normally walk away from a live television show.
“The doctors are checking me out and hopefully everything is fine,” she said.
Despite the frightening circumstances, Alison was still able to joke about her appearance, pointing out that she was still wearing her make-up from that morning.
“I’m rocking it. Look how good I look – still got my make-up on from this morning. Lush.”
THE MOMENT VIEWERS REALISED SOMETHING WAS WRONG

The scare unfolded around an hour into Friday’s programme.
Alison and Dermot had been chatting with Dr Scott when her breathing suddenly became noticeable in the background.
She then appeared to clutch her chest before being helped away from the cameras by Dermot.
Dr Scott attempted to continue with the segment but repeatedly looked towards the area where Alison had been taken.
Retching could also reportedly be heard in the background before producers quickly took the programme to an advert break.
Afterwards, Dermot tried to reassure viewers while making clear that Alison needed to step away.
“Welcome back to This Morning, Ali is feeling just a little unwell so she’s just had to duck out. Hopefully she’ll be back in a sec,” he said.
Later, he confirmed: “Ali’s feeling a little unwell, so I’ll be here for the rest of the show.”
Alison’s eventual hospital update revealed that the incident had been serious enough for her to be taken away for medical checks.
ALISON HAS ALWAYS BEEN OPEN ABOUT HER HEALTH

The presenter first appeared on This Morning in 2003, a year after becoming known to television audiences through Big Brother.
She became a regular co-host in 2021 and has since become one of the programme’s best-known faces, interviewing celebrities and taking part in some of its most memorable moments.
Away from This Morning, she also co-hosts The Great British Bake Off alongside Noel Fielding.
Alison has previously spoken openly about making major changes to her lifestyle after discovering she was pre-diabetic.
Speaking to Radio Times, she said the news had frightened her, particularly because her mother had Type 2 diabetes.
“My mum had Type 2 diabetes and she was worried for me, so when I then found out I was pre-diabetic, that was frightening,” Alison said.
“I thought, ‘I have to be an adult about this’. The sweets had to stop, and the fatty foods.”
She has also credited working with a personal trainer for several years as part of her approach to looking after herself.
“We’re not getting any younger, are we babes? You realise at some point you’ve got to look after yourself,” she said.
THE WEIGHT-LOSS JOURNEY THAT CHANGED HER LIFE
Alison has previously revealed that she underwent gastric-band surgery in 2007 after reaching 28 stone at her heaviest.
However, her body rejected the device and she experienced persistent sickness, eventually having the band surgically removed less than three years later.
Since then, she has spoken about losing weight through changes to her diet and exercise routine, including boxing, weights and Pilates.
She has also discussed living with osteoporosis and using weight training and low-impact movement as part of her approach to protecting her bones and joints.
Alison has denied using weight-loss injections, although she has stressed that she does not judge people who choose them.
“For me, as soon as I hear any scare story, I get frightened. So I haven’t wanted to use them,” she admitted.
“What does it matter how people lose weight? Would you rather me die from being obese? If you want the jabs, if you want to go do gastric surgery, do it. Ultimately, we should want people to live longer.”
A NEW SCARE AFTER YEARS OF LOOKING AFTER HERSELF
Alison’s latest health scare comes after years of being unusually candid about her efforts to take better care of herself.
She has previously spoken about how her mother’s death from cancer, alongside discovering she was pre-diabetic, motivated her to make significant changes.
Now, after suddenly clutching her chest on live television and being taken to hospital, the presenter has once again found herself facing an unexpected health worry.
For now, Alison’s message to her fans is reassuring: doctors are checking her symptoms, and she is hoping everything will be fine.
But the sudden interruption to This Morning left viewers with a worrying reminder of just how quickly an ordinary live-TV moment can change.
