Meghan Markle Book Rumours Explode After UK Return — And Her Side Of The Royal Story Could Be Next

Meghan Markle could be preparing to tell her side of the royal story in a way that would instantly reignite the controversy surrounding her years inside the Royal Family.

The Duchess of Sussex, 45, is reportedly the subject of renewed rumours that she could write a memoir following her return to Britain with Prince Harry and their children.

Nothing has been confirmed by Meghan, however, and her spokesperson has denied that talks are currently underway.

Even so, the speculation has gained fresh attention — largely because Harry has already shown just how explosive a Sussex memoir can become.

Meghan Could Follow Harry’s ‘Spare’ With Her Own Story

Royal expert Katie Nicholl addressed the rumours on The Royals Uncensored podcast, saying she had repeatedly heard claims that Meghan could be considering a book.

“There’s a rumour that she’s going to be writing a book,” Nicholl said. “Actually, I’ve heard this repeatedly.”

She added that such a move would not surprise her.

The possibility is particularly intriguing because Meghan would potentially have a very different story to tell from the one Harry presented in his 2023 memoir, Spare.

Harry’s book contained deeply personal accounts of life inside the monarchy, including his relationships with King Charles, Prince William and other members of the Royal Family.

A memoir from Meghan could inevitably invite comparisons — and potentially reopen some of the most fiercely debated chapters of the Sussexes’ royal years.

Meghan’s Version Could Be Very Different

Unlike Harry, Meghan has never published a full memoir detailing her experience as a senior working royal.

She has spoken extensively about her time in the Royal Family, particularly during the couple’s 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey and their Netflix documentary.

But a book would offer something entirely different: hundreds of pages devoted to her own perspective.

That could potentially include her relationship with Harry, her experiences at Kensington Palace, the Sussexes’ departure from royal duties and the dramatic fallout that followed.

For royal watchers, that possibility alone is enough to reignite speculation.

Podcast guest Mark Dolan offered a far more provocative assessment of the potential commercial value of a Meghan memoir.

He suggested Meghan could potentially “cash in” on her story now, or at another point in the future.

His comments went even further by raising the hypothetical possibility of a memoir following a divorce — although there is currently no indication that Harry and Meghan are planning to separate.

The couple have remained publicly together, and any discussion of divorce is therefore speculation rather than an indication of an actual development.

Harry Has Already Shown The Power Of A Royal Memoir

The rumours are nevertheless notable because Spare demonstrated the enormous global interest in Harry’s perspective.

The memoir became a major publishing event and contained revelations about the Duke’s childhood, his family relationships and his increasingly difficult relationship with the institution surrounding the monarchy.

It also intensified the public focus on the rift between Harry and William.

Harry has repeatedly defended his decision to tell his story, despite the consequences for his relationship with members of his family.

Meghan could theoretically make a similar decision — but doing so would inevitably bring a new level of scrutiny.

Her UK Return Adds Another Twist

The timing of the rumours is perhaps what makes them especially interesting.

Meghan and Harry have now returned to Britain after years primarily based in California.

Their move has already triggered questions about their future, their children’s schooling and their changing relationship with the Royal Family.

Against that backdrop, speculation about Meghan potentially writing a memoir introduces another possibility: that her return could eventually provide the setting for a new chapter in her public life.

There have also been separate reports suggesting Meghan could consider an acting return in Britain, although she has not confirmed those claims either.

For now, both possibilities remain just that — possibilities.

Meghan’s spokesperson has denied that book talks are underway.

That means there is currently no confirmed Meghan memoir in development.

But the fact that experienced royal commentators continue to discuss the possibility shows why the rumour refuses to disappear.
