Piers Morgan Declares War On Earl Spencer — ‘IT’S ALL BULLS**T’ As TV Star Takes Legal Action Over Diana Book Claims. Piers Morgan has dramatically escalated his row with Earl Spencer, branding disputed claims in Spencer’s Diana book ‘BULLS**T’ as he moves ahead with legal action. The broadcaster is challenging what he says are false allegations about his role in the publication of photographs of Princess Diana, after Spencer apologised for one factual error in the book. But Morgan has made clear that the apology has not ended the fight. Spencer has apologised. Morgan is still taking legal action. And his explosive ‘BULLS**T’ verdict shows this Diana book battle is nowhere near finished.

PIERS MORGAN DECLARES WAR ON EARL SPENCER — ‘IT’S ALL BULLS**T’ AS TV STAR TAKES LEGAL ACTION OVER DIANA BOOK CLAIMS

Earl Spencer should pull Diana book, Piers Morgan says

Piers Morgan has launched legal action against Earl Charles Spencer, accusing him and his publishers of publishing what he calls “demonstrable lies” about him in Spencer’s new book, Swan Song: Diana, My Sister.

The broadcaster hit back after Spencer claimed he personally called newspaper editors to uninvite them from Princess Diana’s funeral in 1997 — including Morgan, who was editor of the Daily Mirror at the time.

According to Spencer’s account, Morgan allegedly “snarled with annoyance” before hanging up after being told he was no longer welcome at the funeral.

Spencer also suggested Morgan may have felt “guilt” over the Sunday Mirror publishing photographs of Diana wearing a leotard while working out at a gym four years earlier.

Morgan has now fiercely disputed the account, announcing on X: “BREAKING: I am taking legal action against Earl Spencer and his publishers over demonstrable lies he has written about me in his new book.”

Appearing on Piers Morgan Uncensored, he went even further.

“Well, this is all pretty extraordinary stuff, isn’t it? And very damning, particularly about me,” Morgan said. “I come across in the most despicable manner imaginable. There’s just one problem. It’s all bullst and very, very easy bullst for me to prove it.”

MORGAN POINTS TO A BASIC TIMELINE

Morgan’s central objection concerns when the Sunday Mirror published the photographs of Diana.

He said they appeared in November 1993 — two years before he began working at the Daily Mirror.

That timeline, Morgan argued, directly undermines Spencer’s account of his alleged reaction and the suggestion that he was responsible for the publication.

“My question though is this, if Earl Spencer can be so incredibly, defamatorily wrong about such basic facts involving me, well, why should we believe anything else he puts in this book?” he said.

The dispute now places one of the book’s most personal claims under a legal spotlight, with Morgan saying he intends to challenge what he regards as serious inaccuracies about his role in the events surrounding Diana’s funeral.

SPENCER’S BOOK HAS ALREADY SPARKED A ROYAL ROW

The Morgan dispute comes as Spencer’s book has triggered a much wider controversy over his claims about the Royal Family.

Among the most explosive allegations are Spencer’s account of a conversation with King Charles after Diana’s death, in which he claims the monarch said, “we’ll forget her soon enough.”

Buckingham Palace pushed back with a statement addressing the wider claims, while Spencer accused Charles of “gaslighting” him.

Spencer has also claimed that Charles sounded “giddily elated… like a lottery winner” when they spoke by phone shortly after Diana was killed in Paris in 1997.

Morgan’s legal threat now adds another highly personal confrontation to the growing fallout surrounding Swan Song — with his dispute focused on one question he says can be tested against a simple matter of dates.

“£100,000. Two Contestants. One Final Maths Question. 😳 And Suddenly, The Simplest Calculation Felt Almost Impossible. Just two contestants remained in the fight for a potentially life-changing £100,000 when the final question appeared. It began with a pattern that looked almost ridiculously simple: 0 + 100 = 100 1 + 99 = 100 2 + 98 = 100… The numbers seemed to follow an obvious rule. But as the question became clearer, so did the trap. With the clock ticking and £100,000 hanging in the balance, the contestants had to look beyond the most obvious calculation. Every second mattered. One rushed assumption could cost them everything. “This is possibly the hardest 1% question contestants come across…” But with the jackpot just one answer away, would you have spotted what the pattern was really asking before the clock hit zero?
