Princess Kate And Princess Charlotte Delight Royal Fans With Matching Style During Surprise Appearance Alongside Prince George And Prince Louis—The Unexpected Family Outing Quickly Captured Attention, As The Mother-Daughter Duo’s Coordinated Look Sparked Fresh Admiration And Renewed Interest In The Wales Family’s Next Public Chapter
The Princess of Wales has quite the surprise for fellow audience members at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on Saturday.
The future Queen, 44, stepped out with her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis in tow to watch the netball semi-final between Jamaica and Australia on day nine of the tournament at The Hydro.
While it was known The Prince and Princess of Wales would be in attendance, their children’s appearance is a welcome surprise to royal fans.
The royal wore her trademark chestnut tresses styled immaculately in glamorous Hollywood-style curls, and completed her daytime ensemble with diamond stud earrings.
While this isn’t the first time Charlotte has attended the Commonwealth Games, 2026 marks the first year George and Louis have attended the tournament.
The family of five were warmly welcomed inside the arena, as they looked forward to a tense match between the World’s No 1 team Australia and Birmingham 2022 silver medalists, Jamaica.
Although Charlotte normally keeps an eye on young louis during public appearances, George took on the mantle on Saturday, and the pair smiled and laughed during a conversation.
Louis looked overjoyed as he received a Team Wales bucket hat, promptly placing it on his head. George, however, didn’t seem too enthused at the prospect.
Before the games, the future King chatted to five Team Wales athletes – lawn and indoor bowler Ross Owen, blind para bowler Julie Thomas and her guide John Wilson, and weightlifters Madaline Connelly and Catrin Haf Jones – when he visited the London Welsh School in Hanwell, west London.
The royal couple will also spend time with athletes competing at the games whose careers have been empowered by the charity SportsAid, which Catherine has supported as patron since 2013, and meet emerging talent taking part in the Team England Futures project.
Special family time
The special family outing comes just weeks before George is set to depart his Windsor home for his secondary education at Eton College, where he will be a full-time boarder.
Therefore, it isn’t as surprising to see the Waleses enjoying some special family time together.
