Sarah Ferguson Makes Surprise Return to the UK Days After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Move

Sarah Ferguson is reportedly preparing to return to the UK — just days after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made their own unexpected move back across the Atlantic.

The former Duchess of York, 66, is said to be “imminently” relocating to a six-bedroom home in the Home Counties, outside London. According to The Sun, the property has three bathrooms and even includes a separate “granny annexe.”

The move marks a significant change for Ferguson, who has spent much of the past two decades living at Royal Lodge with her former husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

A source told The Sun that Ferguson had been considering a return to the UK for some time, explaining that finding the right property had simply taken time.

“She has had her eyes on a return for some time but it takes time to find the right new house,” the insider said.

The source added that Ferguson “hasn’t had to worry about accommodation for 20 years,” a reference to her long-standing living arrangement at Royal Lodge.

That arrangement changed after Andrew was stripped of his royal titles and ordered to leave the property amid the continuing controversy surrounding his links to the late Jeffrey Epstein.

Now, Ferguson appears ready to establish a new home of her own.

According to reports, some of her belongings were collected from Andrew’s home in Sandringham this week, with the former duchess “likely” to move into her new residence by Monday.

People reported that she will be paying approximately $8,000 a month to rent the property.

The timing of Ferguson’s return is particularly striking. She has largely remained out of the public eye for months, with her last reported public appearance coming in April, after she was photographed spending time in the Australian Alps.

Her return also comes only days after Harry and Meghan arrived back in the UK with their two children for what has been described as an “extended period.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly landed at Birmingham Airport on Wednesday following a private flight from California. Their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are expected to begin school in the UK next week.

The developments mean several members of the wider royal family are now unexpectedly closer to one another after years of dramatic changes and departures.

Harry and Meghan’s return has reportedly been welcomed by King Charles III, who was informed of their plans and is said to be the reason behind their decision to spend more time in Britain. However, the King has reportedly made clear that they will continue to remain non-working members of the royal family.

For Ferguson, the move comes against an even more complicated backdrop because of the ongoing investigation involving Andrew. He was arrested on his 66th birthday in February following the release of documents relating to Epstein and has not been charged with a crime. Andrew has repeatedly denied wrongdoing and is under suspicion of having shared confidential information with Epstein.

Ferguson has remained closely associated with Andrew despite their divorce, but the latest move suggests she is now taking a major step toward establishing a separate base.
