CBS announced on Wednesday, August 12, that Marque Richardson (Unprisoned) has officially joined the cast in a recurring capacity. Richardson is set to portray Assistant U.S. Attorney Patrick Burns, though further specifics regarding his storyline remain under wraps.

In addition, Morgan Lindholm will see an expanded presence in the upcoming season. Lindholm, whose previous television credits include The Fosters and Leverage: Redemption, plays Maddie, the bartender at the Bullet ‘N Barrel whose role deepens beyond the counter following events established in Season 1.

Who Else Is Returning?

Who's Who in the Cast of Marshals

While CBS has yet to issue a full, formal cast roster, several primary and recurring players have been confirmed or are expected to return:

  • Confirmed Returnees: Luke Grimes (Kayce Dutton), Ash Santos (Andrea), and Tatanka Means (Miles).
  • Expected Reprisals: Brecken Merrill (Tate Dutton), Mo Brings Plenty (Mo), and Gil Birmingham (Thomas Rainwater).

Fate of Season 1 Cliffhanger Characters

Uncertainty remains surrounding the long-term survival of Cal (Logan Marshall-Green) and Belle (Arielle Kebbel), whose storylines were left hanging in high-stakes peril at the conclusion of the freshman season. While both stars were absent from the initial Season 2 teaser trailer, each has confirmed they filmed scenes picking up directly from the finale.

In a May interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Kebbel confirmed her return to set:

“I am a part of season two, yes. We start filming [season two] with a pick up of that [finale] moment. My head is so deep into season two already.”

Marshall-Green offered a similarly measured update regarding Cal’s status, noting:

“I can confirm [Cal] is alive, but not necessarily unscathed. I think I can confirm that for everybody in the damn show, because everybody’s going through it by the end of this thing.”

Marshals Season 2 premieres Sunday, October 4, on CBS.
