One of TV’s longest-running series isn’t going anywhere: The NCIS team will continue solving cases. And what’s even better is that Season 24 will feature the major return of Michael Weatherly as Tony DiNozzo.
CBS has set the return date for its longest-running drama, and it’s right in the middle of premiere week, along with two other shows in the franchise, the prequel NCIS: Origins and new spinoff NCIS: New York, for an all-NCIS night on Tuesdays. With the mothership reaching its 500th episode in its 23rd season — the series has remained a hit for the network for over two decades now! — it’s no surprise that the franchise continues to grow.

When does NCIS Season 24 premiere?
NCIS Season 24 will premiere on Tuesday, October 6, at 8/7c, on CBS.

Who’s in the NCIS Season 24 cast?
NCIS Season 24 stars Sean Murray (as Special Agent Timothy McGee), Gary Cole (as NCIS Special Agent Alden Parker), Wilmer Valderrama (as Special Agent Nickolas “Nick” Torres), Brian Dietzen (as Dr. Jimmy Palmer) Diona Reasonover (as Forensic Scientist Kasie Hines), and Katrina Law (as Special Agent Jessica Knight). Unfortunately, Rocky Carroll will not be returning as Director Leon Vance was killed off in the 500th episode; however, we wouldn’t be surprised if he’s back to direct again, as he did after his character’s death.
Michael Weatherly (Tony DiNozzo) is also returning for a season-long arc.
What’s NCIS about?
NCIS follows the team of special agents who investigate all crimes with Navy or Marine Corps ties. As for any Season 24 specifics, that will depend on how Season 23 ends.

What are the statuses of the other NCIS shows?
The prequel NCIS: Origins and international NCIS: Sydney have both been renewed for their third and fourth seasons, respectively. They’ll be joined on CBS in the 2026-2027 season by the new spinoff, New York, starring LL Cool J and Scott Caan. NCIS: Tony & Ziva, following Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo‘s characters, sadly only lasted one season (read what would have happened next here).
