The Princess of Wales won’t be so easy to forgive the years of estrangement and public blows from Harry and Meghan, a source says.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s reunion with King Charles doesn’t mean they’ll be readmitted into the royal fold – with one major family member “still carrying the hurt” of their acrimonious split. The Duke and Duchess brought their children, Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, to Britain for the first time in four years last month, and were hosted at Highgrove House by the King and Queen.

But Princess Kate and Prince William won’t be so easy to forgive the years of estrangement and public blows, and believe “there are some things that can’t be undone”, according to reports. A source told Closer: “However much Charles wants everyone to move on, William and Kate don’t think it’s possible to build bridges without first building trust – and, right now, that doesn’t exist.”
“Kate is normally incredibly forgiving,” they added. “She much prefers to forgive and forget, rather than hold grudges – but this is completely different. She feels like she was dragged into a very public dispute that she never wanted any part of. She can usually put difficult situations behind her, but she’s still carrying the hurt of what happened. She can’t file those feelings away just because someone tells her it’s better for the monarchy.”
