Well… the Bar Has Officially Been Set. Carly Pearce Spotted One Fan’s Sign In The Crowd And Took A Chance She’d Never Taken Before — Minutes Later, Their Completely Unrehearsed “My Place” Duet Had Everyone Talking

Now that’s how you do a duet.

Carly Pearce is gearing up to release her fifth studio album Honest Woman, which will be out everywhere on August 28th. The Kentucky native has always blended traditional country elements with more modern takes on love and life, always staying true to where she comes from in the process. And this new release today is no different.

She’s also been out on the road, and during a stop at Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom in Hampton, New Hampshire, she had a very special guest named Chris Cherry join her on stage.

Cherry had a sign he was holding out in the crowd that said “Carly Fierce” along with some other words I couldn’t really make out (probably about him singing with her), and she happened to notice it and bring him up there and let him have a go with her.

She told the crowd she’d never done the song “My Place” as a duet, but they gave it a try and it was incredible. The song was from Carly’s 2024 Hummingbird album, and she previously said that it was inspired by a dream she had about a relationship she was in, but knew was bound to end eventually:

“I wrote this song about a dream I had long before the relationship I was in ended, but I knew that it would. It’s hard to watch people move on and realize your heart can’t live there anymore, but that realization is the beginning of the healing process.”

Written by Carly along with Lauren Hungate and Jordan Reynolds, it finds her coming to terms with the fact that her ex has moved on and found someone new, though she hasn’t quite done the same. There is some clever wordplay that I absolutely love, and while it’s beautiful as a solo song, it’s absolutely stellar as a duet too.

Carly shared the video on her Instagram along with the caption that reads:

“Well… the bar has officially been set.”

Amen to that… Chris can really sing, he has a heck of a voice, and they sounded incredible together. It’s beyond impressive they had no rehearsal before doing this because you would never, ever know they had never performed together before. It was flawless:

The 1% Club studio erupted in gasps when Lee Mack revealed the damage from a supposedly 45% puzzle: 20 contestants eliminated instantly and another 17 forced to burn their passes just to survive. The screen made it look like a nightmare translation test, but the real trick was hiding somewhere far simpler. Once Lee exposed it, the answer suddenly looked painfully obvious—and the players who overthought it could only watch in disbelief. 37 fooled. 20 gone. One tiny detail hiding in plain sight.
