17 players OUT in 30 seconds… and one trip around the solar system caused absolute carnage. The 1% Club threw contestants a brutal 25% puzzle, asking them to rearrange the planets alphabetically and work out how many would remain in their original positions from the Sun. The clock proved just as dangerous as the puzzle: 17 contestants were eliminated, while viewers at home admitted they simply ran out of time trying to reorder everything. Then Lee Mack revealed the surprisingly small answer — before delivering a cheeky Uranus joke that had the studio roaring.

PLAYERS on The 1% Club were baffled by a tricky solar question over the weekend, and it successfully knocked out seventeen of the players.

The popular ITV game show seeks to test the common sense and logic of an audience, rather than their general knowledge, but this particular question was extra tricky.

On last Saturday night’s episode, host Lee Mack delivered the stellar 25% question, where the audience looked largely baffled.

He asked: “The image here shows the planets in their order from the sun. How many planets stay in the same place if they are moved into alphabetical order from the sun?”

With time running against them, the contestants all submitted their thoughts to the brain teaser, but many of them got the answer wrong.

Seventeen people ended up being incorrect in the way they reordered the planets.

“The answer was two – Saturn and Uranus,” said Lee.

Lee then quipped: “I bet you’re glad Uranus is in the same place,” before the audience cracked up laughing.

Fans of the show watching from home had an equally tough time with the question, taking to X to discuss how rearranging the planets was a lot harder than you’d first think.

“I’m out… ran out of time trying to rearrange the planets,” said one user.

“NOOO I was so close I failed,” said another.

During that same episode five contestants faced the dreaded 1% question for a shot at £97k.

But they ended up getting it wrong, losing the prize pot.

The question read: “When Vince announced his engagement, his friends decided to buy him some celebratory balloons.

“His Best man only bought the balloons to spell Stag Location but Vince’s other friends insisted he go out and buy the additional balloons to spell Congratulations.

“What were the other three balloon letters he needed to buy for them to be able to display the word Congratulations?”

One player, Simon, guessed that the answer was U, R and L but explained he had been rushing and might have got it wrong.

Another, Nicholas, plumped for U, R and O but said he could then see the answer and knew he was wrong.

Unfortunately none of the remaining players got the correct answer and Lee bid them all goodbye after revealing the answer was R, U, N.
