HARRY KANE surprised Peter Crouch by presenting him with his England legacy cap just days after the pair’s emotional World Cup celebrations following the Three Lions’ win over Mexico.
The former England striker visited the squad at their World Cup 2026 training base in Kansas City on Wednesday after watching Sunday’s dramatic last-16 victory.
Kane was given a wild hug and told “I f*ing love you” by Peter Crouch after England progressed to the World Cup quarter-finals.
The captain scored a penalty as the Three Lions clinched a memorable 3-2 win at the Azteca Stadium.
Crouch had travelled to Mexico City to support England and was pictured celebrating passionately with the former Tottenham man after the final whistle.
Just three days later, the 44-year-old was reunited with Kane at Swope Soccer Village for another memorable moment.
The England skipper presented Crouch with legacy cap No. 1,139 in front of the entire squad in recognition of his contribution to the national team.
Crouch won 42 caps for England between 2005 and 2010, scoring an impressive 22 goals and representing his country at both the 2006 and 2010 World Cups.
Kane paid tribute to Crouch’s outstanding international record before handing over the cap.
He said: “If my stats are right, I think 42 caps, 22 goals.
“Better than one in two, so as a striker at international level, that’s pretty impressive and something to be proud of.
“Obviously we had a nice celebration the other day [after beating Mexico].
“But I know how much of a fan you are, of the boys and England in general, so this is for you, mate.”
The presentation was met with a huge round of applause from England’s players and staff as a stunned Crouch accepted the honour.
An emotional Crouch admitted he had not seen the tribute coming.
He said: “Thank you very much, lads. I wasn’t expecting this at all.
“I just want to put it back on you boys.
“I was in Mexico the other night and I thought it was, easily – even playing the game and being a fan myself – one of the best performances I’ve seen and one of the best nights I’ve had in my life.
“What you boys are doing is absolutely incredible and what you’ve done is made the whole country start believing in the team.
“You’re not just inspiring kids to play football and be the next Harry Kane, you’re making the whole country proud and believing in what you’re doing.
“Congratulations. Thomas, you’ve done an incredible job as well, and I’m very proud as an Englishman to see you boys doing what you’re doing. So keep it up!”
England face Norway next in Miami with a place in the World Cup semi-finals up for grabs.
