King Charles Announces Surprise Overseas Tour as Harry and Meghan Begin New UK Chapter

King Charles and Queen Camilla are preparing for a major overseas tour later this year, just as Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and their two children have begun a new chapter back in Britain.
Buckingham Palace has announced that Their Majesties will undertake an Autumn Tour from October 27 to November 4, 2026, visiting several Commonwealth nations.
The tour will begin in Antigua and Barbuda, before Charles travels to The Bahamas for a Royal Visit. He will then head to Guyana, where the visit will mark 60 years of bilateral relations between the UK and Guyana.
The trip is expected to highlight communities, culture and the natural environment across the Commonwealth.
Harry and Meghan’s return adds another layer of royal intrigue

The announcement comes just as Prince Harry and Meghan have returned to Britain with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, marking a dramatic change after years of living in California.
The family arrived at Birmingham Airport on Wednesday ahead of the new school term. Both children have reportedly been enrolled at UK schools, although their exact school will not be disclosed publicly for security reasons.
The return is particularly striking because Harry previously indicated that he could not imagine bringing Meghan and their children back to Britain.
That position now appears to have changed.
Charles reportedly wants more time with his grandchildren

Harry and Meghan have touched down in the UK
Although Harry and Meghan have not publicly explained exactly why they decided to relocate, reports indicate that King Charles is looking forward to spending private time with his son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren.
The King was reportedly informed about Harry’s plans before the public announcement, while Prince William and Princess Kate were also made aware beforehand.
The Sussexes’ return does not, however, mean they are becoming working royals again. They remain outside the official working monarchy and are expected to maintain their life in the United States as well.
The move follows the family’s summer visit to Althorp House, where they spent time with Harry’s uncle Charles Spencer. That experience may have strengthened Harry’s desire for Archie and Lilibet to develop a closer connection with his British family.

For the Royal Family, the timing is striking: Harry is back in Britain, Charles is preparing for a major Commonwealth tour, and the long-running question of whether the Sussexes can rebuild family relationships is once again at the center of royal attention.
