Meghan Markle Shares First Glimpse of Family’s New Life in the U.K. — and Archie’s Accent Gets Attention

Meghan Markle has given the first glimpse into her family’s new life in Britain since returning to the U.K. with Prince Harry, Archie and Lilibet — and one small detail in the video has quickly stood out.

In a 35-second Instagram post shared on Sunday, September 13, the Duchess of Sussex, 45, offered rare scenes from the family’s life in the English countryside. The footage shows Meghan and Harry, 41, enjoying time outdoors with their two children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, as well as their dogs, Pula and Mia.

But it was Archie’s voice that caught particular attention.

Archie’s British Accent Emerges

The video opens with Meghan and Harry walking hand in hand before cutting to glimpses of their family settling into their surroundings.

Lilibet is shown riding a bicycle while Archie runs alongside her. At one point, the seven-year-old can be heard encouraging his younger sister with “Go! Go!” His pronunciation appears to carry a distinctly British sound, suggesting that his time back in his father’s home country may already be influencing the way he speaks.

The montage continues with Meghan, dressed in wellies, splashing through a muddy puddle, while another scene shows Lilibet’s feet warming beside a fireplace.

Later, Harry is seen fishing with Archie and Lilibet from a boat as the family spends time outdoors together. Wham!’s “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” plays over the footage.

A British flag and red-heart emoji remain visible at the top of the video throughout.

The Family’s Return to Britain

Harry and Meghan arrived in the U.K. on August 26, shortly after PEOPLE revealed that the couple planned to relocate to Harry’s home country with their family for an extended period.

Their children are expected to attend school in Britain, while the family will continue to maintain their home in Montecito.

For now, however, settling Archie and Lilibet into their new surroundings appears to be the couple’s main priority.

A source close to Harry and Meghan told PEOPLE that getting the children settled “has been, and remains, their focus,” adding that there was a lot to do after moving halfway across the world.

The insider said the couple were happy to be back, while noting that their attention remained firmly on helping the children adjust to their new life.

A Move That Was Planned for Some Time

The decision to leave California was reportedly not made suddenly. A source previously told PEOPLE that Harry and Meghan had been planning the move for some time and believed it was the right decision for their family, even though leaving California was emotionally difficult.

The couple had settled there in 2020 after stepping back from their roles as senior members of the royal family.

A Montecito insider said one of the major attractions of returning to Britain was the opportunity for Archie and Lilibet to experience both sides of their family background.

“Meghan feels very fortunate that they’re able to give Archie and Lilibet the opportunity to experience both worlds,” the source said.

Another source explained that Harry wanted his children to understand the world he grew up in and learn more about where their family comes from.

Before their move, Meghan and Harry reportedly spent their final weekend in California with close friends, including friends of their children, as well as Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland.

With the family now beginning a new chapter in Britain, Meghan’s latest video offers a rare look at what that transition looks like behind the scenes — from muddy country walks and family fishing trips to one unmistakably British moment from Archie.
